We are seeking a talented individual to join our Specialties team at Marsh. This role will be based in Lisbon. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

At Marsh Portugal, our Construction Brokers provide customized insurance solutions for clients within the construction and infrastructure sectors. They play a key role in assessing risks, negotiating with insurers to secure optimal coverage, and supporting clients throughout the insurance process, including claims management.

We are looking for a motivated Junior Construction Broker to join our team. In this role, you will support senior brokers by assisting with client portfolio management, conducting risk assessments, preparing insurance proposals, and liaising with insurers. This role offers valuable hands-on experience to develop your skills in construction insurance and client service.

We will count on you to:

  • Design and place insurance programs for construction risks, including CAR/EAR, TPL and other related lines.
  • Help gather insurance terms from insurers and learn how to compare them against client risks.
  • Support the team in presenting insurance options to clients and assisting them in making informed decisions.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and provide suitable insurance solutions.
  • Liaise with insurers to negotiate terms and secure the best possible coverage for clients.
  • Ensure that all broking activities comply with industry regulations and company policies.
  • Develop strategies to attract new clients and retain existing ones.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes.
  • Be open to acquiring new skills and knowledge to enhance professional growth.

What you need to have: 

  • Fluent in Portuguese and English (C1/C2 level).
  • Ideally, 1-2 years of professional experience, however recent graduates with a strong interest and relevant academic background are also encouraged to apply.
  • Academic background or professional experience in law, civil engineering or related fields will be highly valued.
  • Analytical skills to assess risk and evaluate insurance terms.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain good interpersonal relationships.
