What Application Development and Maintenance contributes to Cardinal Health

Application Development and Maintenance is responsible for designing, developing, implementing and supporting applications, systems and IT products required to achieve the company's business objectives.

Accountabilities

·         Demonstrate knowledge of software development techniques and fluency in software languages and application programming interfaces.

·         general understanding of hardware/software platforms including but not limited to operating systems, databases, application servers, web servers and integration technologies.

·         Plan and execute system implementations that ensure success and minimize risk of system outages or other negative production impacts.

·         Demonstrate conceptual knowledge of architecture standards and database and operating systems.

·         Problem solving ability that allows for effective and timely resolution of system issues including but not limited to production outages.

·         Knowledge of software development, life cycle, modeling of business processes, application design patterns, business/functional documents. Estimates to high level business requirements and provide options analysis.

·         Assist in troubleshooting issues

·         Develop solutions for business initiatives and projects

·         Participate on agile activities

·         Collaborate with the business and BA on requirement gathering

·         Execute unit testing and support UA

·         Follow IT change management procedures

Qualifications

·         A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Engineering and/or Computer Science or equivalent experience is required.

·         A minimum of 1 year of experience is preferred. A combination of education and previous COOP/Internship experience will be considered.

·         Must have excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytic skills.

·         Must have organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.

·         Knowledge and experience in Programing, SQL, Java, web applications and C Plus is preferred.

·         Knowledge of MS Office programs is required.

·         Fully Bilingual in Spanish and English oral and written is preferred.

·         Availability to learn about current programming tools, technologies, and legacy applications.
