Pierce County Refuse Lemay is seeking a reliable, safety-focused Diesel Mechanic in Frederickson, WA, to support our heavy-duty truck and trailer maintenance teams. This position offers a competitive hourly rate, CDL premium, and swing shift differential.

Compensation and Benefits
Hourly Rate: $37.00 - $41.00/hour (DOE)
CDL Premium: Additional $1.00/hour for Class A or B CDL holders
Shift Differential: +$1.50/hour for swing shift

Monday - Friday, 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM
Average 8-10 hours of overtime per week paid at 1.5x

Key Responsibilities
Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel trucks and trailers
Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems
Use diagnostic tools and software such as Cummins Insite, Davie-4, and Allison DOC
Perform DOT and OSHA safety inspections
Complete MIG welding and basic fabrication as needed
Test drive vehicles to verify repairs
Accurately document work in maintenance systems
Review and address Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs)
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop
Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures
Required Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of heavy-duty diesel mechanic experience
Experience with diagnostics and repair of fleet equipment
Valid Driver’s License; CDL preferred or ability to obtain within 90 days
Welding experience preferred
Knowledge of DOT and OSHA standards
Ability to work independently and on a team
Must have own basic tools
