You’ll gain real-life experience and explore what it’s like to work as part of an organization that exemplifies people, performance and possibilities.The legal intern will have an opportunity to work alongside in-house attorneys and paralegals on legal matters gaining firsthand in-house legal department experience. Roles and responsibilities of a legal intern include, but are not limited to:
Collaborating with in-house attorneys, paralegals, and outside counsel on compliance issues, regulations and industry standards with a focus on banking, finance, corporate, employment, and other related matters.
Assisting with ad-hoc projects by researching legal issues and regulatory developments, and preparing summaries of research.
Researching and interpreting laws, regulations, decisions, documents, opinions, briefs, or other information related to cases.
Analyzing legal issues and applying appropriate legal principles to determine applicable defenses, relevant arguments, and legal strategy.
Drafting and revising a variety of legal documents such as memos, legal correspondence, and organizational documents.
Preparing legal memoranda or statements of issues involved in legal matters, including appropriate suggestions or recommendations.
