Finning Canada is seeking a Journeyperson Electrician (Red Seal)/Heavy Duty Mechanic (Dual Ticket preferred) to join our team in Whitehorse. In this role, you will be responsible for installation, repair and maintenance of heavy electrical and power generation equipment.

Job Description:

Responsibilities:

• Service, troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment and power generation equipment

• Service and troubleshoot electronic controls, PLCs, HMIs, and electrical switchgear

• Build, construct and test electrical panels

• Load test power generation equipment

• Assist in fulfilling our customer service commitment

Qualifications:

• Interprovincial Electrician Certification

• FSRA or FSRB credential would be considered an asset

• Power Generation experience would be considered an asset

• Generator Rebuild experience would be considered an asset

• Heavy Duty Mechanical experience or certification would be considered an asset

• Team player capable of working with minimal supervision

• Excellent analytical, interpersonal, organization, and communication skills and a commitment to safety

• Valid driver’s license with a successful recent drivers abstract

Important Details:

• This position is based out of Whitehorse on a 14x14 Continuous Shift. Regional Wage allowance available for local residents

• This role will require field work in remote locations

• A condition of employment is the ability to be fit tested and the ability to wear a respirator

• Any future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement

• Candidate selection will be in compliance with the terms of the current collective agreement

• Union Membership: You are required to become a member of the Union associated with this position. This will be effective immediately and will result in union dues being deducted from your pay. The terms and conditions of your employment will be governed by the collective agreement.
