We are looking for a Java Software Engineer Senior Specialist to join a project team to deliver a leading surveillance product. The role is based in Sydney with the Nasdaq Market Surveillance team.
This is a permanent full-time role based in Sydney, Australia following a hybrid work model setup (at least 2 in office days per week).

Design, develop, troubleshooting and implement solutions to Nasdaq Market Surveillance
Reviews system requirements and business processes.
Participate in technical design, functional specification reviews, develop project estimates, schedules, test plans, and code reviews.
Proactively identify and resolve potential problems/issues including authoring of technical specifications.
Determines systems software design requirements.
Provides application software development services or technical support typically for more challenging assignments.
Mentor others in the team on implementing system improvements, challenging the team to increase efficiency wherever possible and to utilize current industry trends.
Participates in IT systems strategy, development and /or integrations services to clients.
Have Degree qualified in Computer Science, Business/Finance or related field, or equivalent work experience
At least 5+ years of experience in Software Engineering using Java.
Experience working in financial institutions is highly preferred but not required
Experience with databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, etc..) is nice to have.
Special Qualifications: Maintains professional association memberships. Specialized development in business acumen, financial, and critical thinking.

Our work arrangement is hybrid. You will be coming into the office at least 2 days per week.
