We are hiring a Java Backend Test Engineer
Hybrid working model - Novi Sad or Belgrade office
Role description
As a Java Backend Test Engineer, you will join our QA team and help us ensure robust quality within financial systems. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain automated test suites for backend services, with a strong focus on API and integration testing, working closely with engineering teams in an Agile environment.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop comprehensive API and integration test automation using Rest-Assured and JUnit
Perform low-level integration testing of Spring Boot-based microservices
Collaborate with development teams in an Agile environment to identify and resolve quality issues early
Develop both unit and integration test suites to ensure code reliability and coverage
Proactively explore and implement new testing tools, frameworks, and best practices
Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to clarify requirements and report findings
Participate in sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectives using Jira
Your profile
3–5 years of QA/QE experience
Java (must-have)
Hands-on experience with Rest-Assured for API automation testing
Strong JUnit framework expertise
Low-level integration testing experience and understanding of the Spring Boot framework
Strong backend testing knowledge and hands-on automation experience
Experience with Agile methodologies, Sprints, and Jira
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Proactive mindset with eagerness to learn and explore emerging tools and technologies
Skills that would be a plus
Full-stack QA experience (Selenium, Playwright)
TypeScript knowledge
Financial Data Services testing experience
Proficiency with GitHub Copilot or similar AI-assisted development tools
Experience with CI/CD pipeline integration
