The Applications Development Senior Programmer Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for participation in the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to contribute to applications systems analysis and programming activities.
Role Summary: Deliver cutting-edge, resilient, and scalable solutions for a low-latency, high-performance Futures Derivative Clearing platform. This role involves designing, developing, and modernizing automation for margin payments and fees/commissions, ensuring engineering excellence, and fostering high-performing teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Architect & Develop: Design, develop, and test resilient, stateless, scalable, and reusable services and APIs using modern frameworks.
Technical Leadership: Architect and review solutions conforming to Citi standards, optimizing client experience and competitive advantage.
Microservices & UI Development: Build reusable software components in a cloud-native microservices architecture and develop high-performing Angular screens with a focus on design patterns and secure coding.
Collaboration & Automation: Partner with stakeholders, product managers, and business analysts. Implement automated build, test, and deployment pipelines using DevOps tools.
Quality & Mentorship: Drive quality through testing and test automation. Mentor junior team members, enforce governance, and continuously enhance code quality.
Innovation: Research front-end development and DevOps best practices, providing expertise in applications programming and architectural adherence.
Required Technical Skills & Qualifications:
Experience: 7+ years in IT, strong technical background.
Cloud-Native: Docker, OpenShift/Kubernetes microservices architecture.
Backend: Java, Spring, SQL, REST APIs, Kafka/IBM MQ.
Frontend: JavaScript, Angular, HTML, CSS.
DevOps: GIT, Jenkins, Tekton.
Methodology: Agile/Scrum.
Education: Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science/IT.
Desirable Skills:
Futures & Options clearing workflow.
Application security protocols (Oauth, TLS, SSL, SSH, SFTP, PKI).
Distributed Cache (Gemfire/Redis).
