Job Description Summary
Responsible for coordinating, scheduling and supervising the activities of the building/facility cleaning staff and ensuring that the cleaners keep offices, kitchen, washrooms, hallways, stairs, escalador, elevators, pathways, and other common areas within the building in clean and orderly condition by performing basic cleaning duties. May also supervise the performance of the clean-up and basic maintenance of the surrounding grounds and premises (Exterior). As well as, conducting inspections, trainings and providing reports and follow ups.
Job Description
The Supervisor reports to the Site Janitorial Manager and is responsible for the following activities under the direction and guidance of the Account Manager or Account Director:
- Responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of employees within the shift and assigned buildings. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company’s policies and applicable Provincial and Federal laws.
- Assist in managing the overall activities of a project(s), and supervises the project crew.
- Coordinate cleaning services activities for assigned buildings. Ensure that services are performed as contracted and meet the customer specifications.
- Maintain/monitor work schedules of all shift personnel, including the preparation and submission of weekly payroll time sheets.
- Establish/maintain work performance standards.
- Conduct quality assurance checks and manages materials inventory as well as general use of equipment. Including key controls.
- Resolve on-site services delivery problems.
- Participate in on-going management/technical skills development training programs. Including safety and safety site committee.
- Conduct orientation of new employees, develops employees’ skills/abilities.
- Maintain effective on-going customer relations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- One to three years of supervisory experience, and up-to-date knowledge of cleaning practices/procedures.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills and the ability to interact effectively at all levels.
- The incumbent is responsible for assisting in the management of the site account. Specific responsibilities include: work-scheduling of all shift personnel, establishing work standards in conjunction with the Manager, conducting site evaluations/audits, overall inventory/equipment usage, budget control, employee evaluations, trouble-shooting/problem solving, orientation/safety training personnel, customer relations, payroll (time sheets, check distribution) and special project work as requested.
- Must be able to follow through and carry out work orders and coordinate and schedule others to perform such work.
- Ability to supervise and yet work collaboratively with others.
- Must be reliable, thorough, observant, very organized, flexible and courteous.
- Strong proficiency with MS Office Suite (MS Word and Excel) and Work Order System
Requirements:
- 1-3 years of supervisory experience
- Fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese
- Ability to operate power cleaning equipment
- Proficiency in computer and mobile phone literacy
- Motivated and proactive individual
- Background check required

The compensation that will be offered to the successful candidate will depend on factors such as whether the position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement, the geographic area in which the work will be performed, market pay rates in that area, and the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
The company will not pay less than minimum wage for this role.
The compensation for the position is: $18.70 - $22.00 CAD Hourly
