What You’ll Do:

As an IT/OT Senior Systems Administrator, you will be responsible for designing, maintaining, and optimizing hybrid on‑premises and cloud infrastructure supporting IT and OT operations. The role ensures reliability, scalability, and security of critical systems and drives modernization initiatives that enable operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure Management & Operations

  • Build, administer, and support hybrid IT/OT infrastructure including Windows Server, VMware, Hyper‑V, and Microsoft 365 workloads.
  • Manage datacenter infrastructure (servers, racks, cabling, power, environmental monitoring) to ensure availability, resilience, and uptime.
  • Configure and support load balancing solutions (Citrix NetScaler or equivalent) to maintain application performance and security.
  • Administer Microsoft Exchange (on‑premises, hybrid, and Exchange Online) and SQL Server, including patching, backups, and performance tuning.
  • Support enterprise printing services, including print servers, network printers, and lifecycle management.
  • Support VoIP platforms (Avaya, Microsoft Teams Phone), ensuring proper integration, call routing, and quality of service.
  • Perform patch management, vulnerability remediation, and secure baseline implementation across operating systems, applications, and identity platforms.
  • Serve as Tier‑3 escalation for infrastructure, virtualization, and identity issues.
  • Collaborate with managed service providers and internal teams to maintain platform stability and performance.
  • Participate in after‑hours maintenance and on‑call support as required.
  • Travel occasionally to corporate offices and operational sites to provide onsite infrastructure support.
  • Contribute to Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity planning, including documentation and regular testing.
  • Conduct proactive monitoring, capacity planning, and system optimization to meet SLA and operational targets.

Identity, Directory & Access Management

  • Administer Active Directory services across multiple global sites, including AD replication, DNS, DHCP, DFS, GPOs, trusts, and delegated administration.
  • Oversee Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) identity lifecycle, hybrid synchronization, and Conditional Access enforcement.
  • Administer enterprise application access within Entra ID, including SSO configuration, access assignments, and lifecycle governance.
  • Configure and manage Privileged Identity Management (PIM), MFA, and Identity Protection policies.

Cloud & Endpoint Management

  • Administer Azure infrastructure, including Virtual Machines, VNets, subnets, resource groups, RBAC, and policy governance.
  • Manage Microsoft 365 tenants and services, ensuring secure configuration aligned with best practices.
  • Manage Microsoft Intune, Windows Autopilot, device compliance, application deployment, and remote device management.
  • Administer Azure Backup and Azure Site Recovery, aligning cloud resilience with business continuity requirements.

Virtualization, Storage & Backup

  • Implement, manage, and troubleshoot VMware vSphere/vCenter and Microsoft Hyper-V environments, including:
    • Cluster configuration (HA, DRS, Live Migration)
    • VM lifecycle management (provisioning, optimization, P2V/V2V)
    • Storage integration (vSAN, iSCSI, FC, shared storage)
    • Host patching, firmware updates, and capacity planning
    • VMware to Hyper-V migration planning and execution
  • Manage enterprise storage platforms (HPE Nimble SAN, QNAP NAS) for performance, replication, and capacity.
  • Administer enterprise backup solutions (Veeam, Cohesity, Acronis, Azure Site Recovery), validating job health, restorability, and retention compliance.

Qualifications and Experience

Required

  • 5+ years in a Systems Administration or Infrastructure Operations role within enterprise environments.
  • Proven expertise in Windows Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft Entra ID.
  • Hands‑on experience managing VMware, Hyper‑V, and Microsoft 365 environments.
  • Strong virtualization experience administering VMware vSphere/vCenter and Microsoft Hyper-V environments.
  • Solid understanding of networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, switching, VPNs, and Wi‑Fi.
  • Experience with Exchange and SQL Server administration, patching, and performance tuning.
  • Practical knowledge of SAN/NAS (HPE Nimble, QNAP) and enterprise backup solutions (Veeam, Cohesity, Acronis).
  • Working experience with infrastructure monitoring and performance tools (PRTG, Nagios, SolarWinds, etc.)
  • Strong scripting skills using PowerShell for automation and custom reporting.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills, ownership mindset, and ability to work cross‑functionally.

Nice‑to‑Have

  • Experience with Linux server administration (Ubuntu, Red Hat, or CentOS) for application hosting, file services, or automation frameworks.
  • Experience supporting OT network environments, HMIs, or historian systems.
  • Familiarity with Palo Alto, Cisco, or HPE/Aruba network devices.

Education & Certifications

  • Degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Networking, or related technical field OR equivalent hands-on professional experience.
  • Relevant technical certifications strongly preferred, such as:
    • Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate (AZ-800 & AZ-801)
    • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104)
    • Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Expert (MS-102)
    • VMware Certified Professional (VCP-DCV)
    • Veeam Certified Engineer (VMCE)
