Position Summary

The ITOCC Operations Analyst II plays a key role in advancing monitoring and observability capabilities across IT Enterprise Governance. This position is responsible for implementing and optimizing monitoring tools, performing advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis, and developing comprehensive reports to inform leadership decisions. The Analyst II leads initiatives to improve operational visibility, mentors junior team members, and contributes to strategic planning and continuous improvement efforts. This role also ensures alignment of monitoring strategies with broader IT goals and actively supports major incident response activities in a 24/7 environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead initiatives to enhance monitoring and observability capabilities across IT systems such as Zabbix, Grafana, and Azure Monitor.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior analysts and team members.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and continuous improvement of monitoring processes and tools.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of monitoring strategies with organizational goals.
  • Collect, index, search, and analyze data from a variety of sources.
  • Develop queries and reports to support operational visibility and decision-making.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex technical issues.
  • Stay up-to-date on monitoring and observability standards and best practices.
  • Follow Change Management processes for maintenance and operation of IT tools.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with Project Management methodologies including Agile and Waterfall frameworks.
  • Monitor assigned systems and applications to track operating efficiency and ensure system security.
  • Host and actively participate in observability-focused syncs to promote team development and alignment.
  • Provide after-hours support for critical observability escalations, ensuring 24/7 visibility into system health.
  • Ensure documentation of observability configurations, alerting logic, and platform integrations is current and accessible.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

This position works in a comfortable office setting with a computer for a large percentage of the workday. The noise level in the work environment is usually mild. Occasional travel may be required.

Minimum Qualifications

Requirements include a bachelor’s degree in information technology or a related field and 3+ years of progressive experience in IT Operations or a related role, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preference will be given to candidates who possess

  • ITIL Foundation Certification or equivalent knowledge of IT Service Management (ITSM) frameworks.
  • Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall Project management frameworks.
  • Advanced knowledge of setup and defining monitoring processes (Zabbix, Grafana, ServiceNow, etc.)
  • Proven experience leading or mentoring an IT operations team.
  • 1–2 years of experience working in or in close coordination with a Network Operations Center (NOC), Command Center, or similar operational environment.
  • Strong understanding of event monitoring tools and processes, as well as incident and problem management best practices.
