The annual base salary range for this position:

zł141,600.00 - zł211,200.00

Individual pay will be based on various factors such as relevant work experience, education, certifications, skill level, seniority, and internal equity.


Job Description:

Tax Advisor role entails accountability for providing advice and support on tax requirements (direct and indirect), practice and tax risk management, ensuring compliance with filing and reporting requirements, optimizing cash flow, minimizing costs and exposures and reputation management. 

The principal aspects of this role include:

  • Providing concise, accurate, comprehensive and timely Italian tax advice to Shell stakeholders, including updates on changes in tax laws, business implications, withholding taxes, permanent establishments, tax residency and liquidations.

  • Supporting identification of tax planning and savings opportunities, aligning with required stakeholders, and efficiently delivering tax values.

  • Offering timely and accurate routine corporate tax advisory support, such as withholding tax rates, tax codes, contract reviews, and input assurances, to businesses and Tax Operations.

  • Ensuring first-time-right quarter-end reporting activities, including the operation and management of relevant tax controls, uncertain tax positions, DTA memos.

  • Supporting corporate tax litigation strategies for open years with guidance from the Country Tax Lead, collaborate with internal stakeholders, and execute the strategy effectively, including representation before the Italian Revenue Agency (IRA).

  • Supporting preparation of local Transfer Pricing documentation and supporting materials.

  • Supporting CTL in CFFO improvement initiatives through thought leadership, planning, stakeholder alignment, and rigorous follow-up with the IRA.

  • Assisting with the relationship with the IRA under "enhanced taxpayer relationship" principles.

  • Establishing and maintaining good working relationships with statutory auditors, tax advisory, and law firms.

  • Becoming a trusted and valued member of the Country Tax team and various asset/project teams.

  • Proactively engaging and maintaining strong connections with stakeholders and the business.

  • Promoting learning mindset and optimize learnings from errors, incidents and near misses.

  • Proactively engaging in automation developments and co-create FO Tax digitalization vision.

KEY SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS FOR THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE:

  • University degree in Accounting, Finance or Law/Tax

  • Minimum of 5 years of work experience in financial positions (tax, accounting, finance)

  • Strong tax and tax law knowledge and compliance best practice

  • Fluency in Italian

  • Knowledge of Italian tax (both direct and indirect) and associated law/regulations

  • Independently motivated and able to effectively engage diverse stakeholders in a virtual environment

  • Understanding business transactions, with the focus on tax optimization, which results in tax impacts which need to be managed

  • Ability to evaluate tax risks and balance risk with business objectives, and make recommendations that are objective, practical, technically appropriate, and supportive of the business.

  • Ability to proactively engage and build relationships with other departments

  • Strong team working skills

  • Excellent communications/stakeholder engagement skills, both written and oral

  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills

Since your duties require regular use of the Italian language, you will receive a monthly gross allowance of 800 PLN added to your basic salary.
