Position Overview

Summary

The UI/UX Engineer is a technical contributor responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing user interfaces for internally built digital platforms at Capital Health. This role supports the organization’s AI-native, product-driven strategy by translating complex clinical, operational, and administrative workflows into intuitive, secure, and scalable digital experiences.

The UI/UX Engineer collaborates closely with product managers, engineers, data teams, and business stakeholders to deliver modern applications that improve workflow efficiency, usability, and decision-making across the enterprise.

Minimum Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Human-Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, or related field or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.

Experience: 2–3 years of professional experience in UI/UX development, front-end engineering, or web application design.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Experience with modern web development frameworks (e.g., .NET, component-based UI frameworks).
  • Strong understanding of responsive design and accessibility principles.
  • Familiarity with UI prototyping and design tools.
  • Ability to integrate front-end applications with backend systems.
  • Foundational understanding of secure development practices.
  • Strong analytical thinking and troubleshooting skills.

Special Training

Training in accessibility standards, secure coding practices, agile methodologies, or enterprise UI frameworks preferred.

Usual Work Day

8 hours per day with flexibility to support sprint milestones, testing cycles, and production releases as needed.

Does this position formally supervise employees? No.

Works under the direction of the Manager or Director of Product Development.

Essential Functions

  • Design intuitive, user-centered interfaces for enterprise healthcare applications.
  • Apply Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) principles to reduce cognitive load and improve workflow efficiency.
  • Create wireframes, prototypes, and production-ready designs aligned to organizational standards.
  • Ensure accessibility and usability best practices are embedded in all digital experiences.
  • Develop modular, reusable UI components using modern frameworks.
  • Implement secure front-end logic to ensure reliable data binding and interaction with backend systems.
  • Maintain consistent design systems and styling standards across applications.
  • Partner with Product Managers to translate requirements into scalable interface solutions.
  • Participate in agile development cycles including sprint planning and backlog refinement.
  • Conduct usability testing and interface performance reviews.
  • Identify and remediate UI-related defects or inefficiencies.
  • Contribute to evolving digital platform standards that support AI-enabled and data-driven applications.
