Core Competencies: The IT Systems Administrator is an operations-focused position within the IT Infrastructure Team, responsible for the end-to-end maintenance, tuning, and support of the Harris Williams technology platform. In addition to network and infrastructure responsibilities, this role has a strong focus on Windows endpoint, identity, and security platform administration, including Group Policy, Intune/MDM, privileged access management, and systems configuration governance. The IT Systems Administrator partners closely with IT stakeholders to resolve complex issues, improve endpoint reliability, and continuously mature configuration standards across on-premises and cloud-hosted systems.
Core Responsibilities:
- Server Administration & Operations
- Administers and supports Windows Server environments across on-premises and cloud-hosted platforms, including installation, configuration, patching, and lifecycle management.
- Owns Windows Server patching and update implementation, including integration with Azure Arc, change validation, maintenance windows, and rollback planning.
- Manages core Windows Server services such as Active Directory–dependent components, DNS, DHCP, file services, print services, and certificate services.
- Ensures server configurations adhere to established security baselines, hardening standards, and operational best practices.
- Troubleshooting & Incident Response
- Acts as an escalation point for complex Server and Client incidents, performing deep-dive troubleshooting across OS, services, authentication, storage, and performance layers.
- Diagnoses and resolves issues related to server performance degradation, system instability, failed patching, service outages, and resource exhaustion.
- Partners with the Infrastructure and Service Experience teams to identify root causes of recurring server or policy-driven issues and implement durable corrective actions.
- Reviews logs, metrics, and monitoring data to proactively identify and remediate emerging server health risks.
- Endpoint, Configuration, and Policy Management
- Owns the design, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of Group Policy Objects (GPOs), ensuring policies are secure, well-documented, and aligned with operational standards.
- Administers Microsoft Intune / MDM, including configuration baselines, compliance policies, device configurations, and endpoint security controls.
- Supports Windows Autopilot, including provisioning workflows, deployment profiles, and lifecycle management of enrolled devices.
- Security, Privilege, and Access Management
- Manages Endpoint Privilege Management platform (BeyondTrust Avecto), including policy design, application elevation rules, auditing, and ongoing tuning.
- Oversees Conditional Access (CA) configuration and lifecycle management in coordination with security requirements and identity strategy.
- Manages and maintains Varonis and Netwrix platforms, including updates, configuration changes, alert tuning, and data governance integration.
- End-User Experience
- Provides advanced escalation support to the Service Experience team, assisting with troubleshooting complex endpoint, policy, access, and configuration-related issues.
- Manages enterprise print queue infrastructure, including queue configuration, availability, and maintenance of print accounting software.
- Develops and maintains documentation, standards, and runbooks related to endpoint management, policy configuration, and cloud services.
- Team Operations & Delivery Management
- Coordinates work across IT Infrastructure, Service Experience, Security, and other technology stakeholders to ensure aligned execution of initiatives, incident response, and operational improvements.
- Manages, tracks, and documents incidents, problems, changes, and service requests within IT workflow and ticketing tools, ensuring issues are properly categorized, prioritized, and resolved.
- Applies ITIL-aligned practices for incident, problem, and change management, with a focus on root cause analysis, continuous improvement, and operational stability.
- Maintains accurate and current technical documentation, including issue histories, configuration standards, runbooks, and operational procedures.
- Communicates effectively with technical and non‑technical stakeholders regarding system status, risks, remediation plans, and operational outcomes.
- Provides guidance, collaboration, and mentorship to other IT team members as needed.
- Performs other IT‑related duties as required to support business operations, technology initiatives, and evolving organizational needs.
Job Specific Competencies, Education & Experience:
- 5+ years systems administration experience in a medium-large enterprise.
- Extensive experience administering, troubleshooting, and performance tuning Windows Server environments across on‑premises, hybrid, and cloud platforms.
- Proven ownership of Windows Server patching and lifecycle management
- Strong hands‑on experience with Group Policy (GPO) design and governance in enterprise Active Directory environments.
- Operational expertise with Microsoft Intune / MDM, including configuration baselines, compliance policies, and Windows Autopilot.
- Experience administering endpoint privilege management (BeyondTrust Avecto), Conditional Access, and security/auditing platforms such as Varonis and Netwrix.
- Experience building and supporting Azure infrastructure resources (VMs, storage, SQL) and operational OCI (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure) services such as monitoring and backups.
- Demonstrated ability to support and escalate complex issues, driving root‑cause resolution.
- Strong understanding of ITIL practices and exposure to DevOps‑oriented workflows, with excellent documentation and cross‑team collaboration skills.
- Passion for technology, innovation, and learning of new skills while ensuring an exceptional customer experience.

Base Salary: $110,000 - $135,000
- Salaries may vary within the range based on geographic location, market data and on individual skills, experience, and education.
- Role is incentive eligible with the payment based upon company, business and/or individual performance.
