The Team & Role

Zuora’s Corporate Operations organization serves as the backbone of our internal technology ecosystem, building digital experiences that connect teams, align business priorities, and strengthen collaboration company-wide. Taking a cloud-first, AI-enabled approach, we empower our global ZEOs with modern tools and self-service solutions that drive productivity, scalability, and agility - all while upholding the highest standards of security and compliance.

As an IT Systems Engineer, you will play a critical role in building and supporting the systems and identity platforms that power our global workforce.  This is a high-impact opportunity to shape how Zuora manages identity, secures access, and operates a modern cloud-first environment. You’ll partner closely with Security, Engineering, and IT Ops teams to evolve our IAM strategy, mature our cloud infrastructure, and improve the end-user experience.

  • You’ll help evolve Zuora’s identity and access ecosystem as we scale globally.
  • You’ll work across best-in-class technologies like Okta, AWS, Atlassian Cloud, and modern automation frameworks.
  • You’ll gain deep exposure to both SaaS administration and infrastructure engineering.
  • Your work will directly contribute to operational excellence, employee productivity, and security posture.

 

Our Tech Stack: Okta, MS Active Directory, AWS (EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch) • Windows & Linux Systems, Atlassian Cloud (Jira/Confluence) • Proofpoint 

 

What you’ll do

  • Drive the implementation, optimization, and day-to-day management of IAM solutions with Okta, ensuring secure and seamless authentication and authorization across the company.
  • Maintain and enhance Active Directory, ensuring robust user, group, and policy management aligned with security and compliance standards.
  • Design, deploy, and operate AWS cloud environments, focusing on performance, reliability, security, and cost efficiency.
  • Develop automation and scripting solutions (e.g., Python, Bash) to streamline IT workflows, reduce manual toil, and enhance system reliability.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (Security, Engineering, IT Ops, HRIS) to translate business requirements into scalable and secure technical solutions.
  • Administer and improve Zuora’s SaaS and Atlassian Cloud environments, including workflows, permissions, project configurations, and user management.
  • Lead and document system upgrades, patches, configurations, and best-practice deployments to maintain stability and system hygiene.
  • Provide Tier 2 support for escalated system issues, ensuring quick resolution and a high-quality internal customer experience.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation for systems, processes, and configurations to support operational excellence.

Your experience

  • Strong hands-on experience administering Okta, IAM platforms, and identity lifecycle processes.
  • Experience managing Active Directory, including user provisioning, policies, and security configurations.
  • Solid understanding of AWS services and cloud environment management.
  • Working knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems and core networking concepts.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a proactive and solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Experience partnering with cross-functional teams and communicating technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Nice to haves:

  • Experience with Atlassian/Jira Cloud administration, including workflows, schemes, permissions, and automation.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python or Bash for automation.
  • Relevant certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect, Okta Certified Administrator, or Atlassian Certified Professional.
