Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced, solutions‑oriented IT Support Specialist to provide high‑quality technical support across end‑user hardware, software, and IT peripherals. The ideal candidate brings strong troubleshooting capabilities covering device failures, software issues, and connectivity problems, paired with a professional and customer‑focused presence. This role requires proficiency with ticketing systems, structured documentation, and disciplined workflow management to ensure accurate tracking and timely resolution of support requests.
This role requires previous experience providing IT/Helpdesk support in VFX/Gaming/Animation environments.
The IT Support Specialist will maintain a consistent onsite presence in Hyderabad to deliver real‑time support, address daily technical needs, coordinate with onsite teams and external vendors, and escalate complex issues to the wider IT organisation when required. Responsibilities also include supporting facility‑related technology initiatives, managing asset lifecycles, and contributing to project‑based work such as office moves, desk setups, pilot deployments, and system migrations. Professionalism, clear communication, and reliable service delivery are essential in this client‑facing role.
What You’ll Do
User Hardware & Software Support
- Provide support for client‑issued laptops, desktops, tablets, printers, peripherals, and related accessories.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, perform break/fix and repair/replacement activities, and support mobile device and mobile line management.
Facility Support
- Support facility‑related IT tasks in collaboration with facilities teams and external vendors.
- Participate in scheduled vendor visits to ensure completion of quarterly maintenance.
- Log activities and coordinate with internal stakeholders to resolve facility‑related issues that impact IT systems.
IT Asset Management
- Follow predefined checklists when issuing or collecting hardware such as laptops, monitors, and peripherals.
- Maintain accurate asset records, including status, location, and assignment in designated inventory systems.
- Act as the onsite point of contact for hardware handoffs, returns, and communication with the central asset management team.
- Coordinate shipping requests for IT equipment to and from client offices.
Onsite Technician Presence
- Provide consistent onsite support during business hours as the primary point of contact for daily IT needs.
- Deliver real‑time support, troubleshoot hardware issues, liaise with vendors, and escalate incidents to the broader IT team when necessary.
Additional Services
- Maintain the fleet of loaner laptops.
- Support project‑based work including office moves, desk setups, pilot deployments, and system migrations.
- Provide occasional audiovisual and event support both onsite and offsite.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
- 3+ years of experience in a high‑paced IT break‑fix environment, ideally in VFX, animation, or gaming.
- 3+ years of IT support experience across Windows and macOS environments, including imaging and provisioning.
- Minimum 2 years of Help Desk support experience.
- Strong hardware and software break‑fix capability.
- Experience working with distributed teams in global VFX, animation, or gaming environments.
- Familiarity with onsite studio needs in animation, visual effects, games, or post‑production environments.
- Experience supporting Unreal and Unity engines and DCC tools (Maya, Blender, Houdini, ZBrush, Nuke).
- Strong knowledge across Windows OS, macOS, ChromeOS, iOS, Android, Google Workspace, Google Meet, Jamf, and Intune.
- Excellent communication skills, both in‑person and written.
- Experience with monitor and accessory deployment and collection.
- Competence in laptop and peripheral deployment, device upgrades, and replacement of faulty hardware.
- Ability to manage inventory of peripherals, computers, printer consumables, and miscellaneous assets.
- Experience working directly with end users to troubleshoot software issues.
- Printer management and preventative maintenance experience.
- Ability to coordinate pickups, recollections, and equipment deployments with logistics vendors.
- Strong collaboration skills with workplace teams to ensure an optimal user experience.
- Ability to respond promptly to team communication and escalations via Slack or other channels.
