Job Summary: You will serve as a IT SPECIALIST (SYSTEMS ANALYSIS/NETWORK) within NAVAL SYSTEMS MANAGEMENT ACTIVITY. This position is in the excepted service and does not confer competitive status.

Major Duties:

  • You will provide technical expertise and advisory support to senior leadership on IT infrastructure, network operations, and system performance to ensure mission readiness and system availability.
  • You will analyze organizational IT requirements and develop recommendations for system architecture, telecommunications, and technology solutions to enhance operational effectiveness.
  • You will oversee contractor performance and manage tasking for system engineering and IT operations to ensure compliance with established architectural and program standards.
  • You will plan, coordinate, and execute information system security activities, including audits, inspections, vulnerability assessments, and implementation of corrective measures.
  • You will lead or support complex IT initiatives by coordinating with internal teams, and external stakeholders to resolve technical issues and deliver timely, effective solutions.

Qualifications: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing expert technical guidance on enterprise IT systems, including local and wide area networks, telecommunications infrastructure, and system operations to ensure continuous availability and mission support. 2) Advising senior leadership on IT strategy, system architecture, and technology solutions, including analyzing requirements and recommending enhancements to infrastructure, security, and interoperability. 3) Managing and overseeing contractor performance for IT operations and system engineering efforts, ensuring compliance with architectural standards, policies and program objectives. 4) Planning and executing information system security operations, including conducting security assessments, audits, vulnerability scans, and implementing corrective actions to ensure compliance with cybersecurity requirements.
