Selected applicants will serve as entry-level trainees in the DLA Pathways to Career Excellence (PaCE) Program performing a series of progressively responsible IT Specialist (SYSANALYSIS/APPSW) functions, along with formal and on-the-job training (OJT). Major Duties:
Qualifications: To be considered for a Recent Graduate appointment you must meet ONE of the following requirements: - A person who was awarded a degree by an institution of higher education not more than two years before the date of the appointment -OR- - A person who has completed a period of obligated service in a uniformed service of more than four years, and was awarded a degree by an institution of higher education not more than four years before the date of the appointment. In addition to meeting the Recent Graduate eligibility requirements, your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. Specialized Experience One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-07 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: - Analyzes usage statistics to ensure the effectiveness of current database methods and procedures, and to ensure optimum use of existing systems. - Assists in planning and coordinating systems design, preparing technical specifications, monitoring the development and testing processes, and developing, coding, testing, debugging and maintaining applications software. - Writes regulations, manuals, procedures, and other instruments of a guidance nature for use by others charged with performing actions under the monitoring of Information Operations. - Experience documenting system and/or enterprise architectures inclusive of products such as: data models (conceptual, logical and physical); operational process flow models; operational business rules, controls and risks documentation and alignment to process flows; system interface matrices or specifications; high level operational concept diagrams describing the purpose of the system, services and products delivered, stakeholders and customers served, etc.; network diagrams and data flow models; other diagrams, models and/or visualizations that describe system architectures and how they fit within internal and align to external partner architectures. - Experience with supporting the software testing and sustainment lifecycle for systems such as SAP S/4, inclusive of: assisting in the creation and execution of automated test scripts (e.g., Robotic Process Automation) to validate system updates and functionality; analyzing operational workflows or system data to identify process bottlenecks and performance anomalies; and utilizing IT service management platforms (e.g., ServiceNow) to log software defects, track system incidents, and support routine troubleshooting for complex business or logistics systems. B. Education Substitution: Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. To qualify based on education in lieu of specialized experience, you must possess: bachelor's degree with Superior Academic Achievement (SAA) based on ONE of the following: (1) class standing (upper third standing in graduating class); -or- (2) grade-point average (2.95 or higher overall or over the last two years of bachelor's degree -or- 3.45 in major field or over the last two years in major); -or-(3) election to membership in a national scholastic honor society. Your degree must be in the following: computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks. -OR 3 C. Have completed at least one (1) full year of graduate education from an accredited college or university in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management. Additionally, you must have a degree in the following: computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
