Major Duties:

  • You will serve as an IT Specialist in the Strategy and Plans Division (J65), Plans and Strategy Branch (J654).
  • You will provide oversight across higher level initiatives, capabilities, experiments, exercises, assessments pilots, and projects as directed.
  • You will be responsible for planning, directing, integrating, and executing all aspects of the assigned project(s) within cost, schedule, performance, and/or system supportability requirements.
  • You will support the development of realistic and progressive capabilities for coalition partners in support of theater plans and exercises.

Qualifications: Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate GS-5 through GS-15 (or equivalent): For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. The employing agency is responsible for identifying the specific level of proficiency required for each competency at each grade level based on the requirements of the position being filled. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. In addition: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Examples of specialized experience may include some of the following: 1) Managing and directing information technology and satellite communications systems and services to meet or exceed customer requirements; 2) Overseeing technology architectures and managing IT and satellite communication projects, contracts, and service providers; 3) Developing and incorporating IT and satellite communications services for joint and multinational operational and contingency plans; 4) Working with computer networking concepts, protocols, and network security methodologies and the ability to design and integrate hardware and software solutions across terrestrial and satellite domains.
