Job Summary: THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a IT SPECIALIST (ENTARCH), Position Description Number PDD2358000 and is part of the MA ANG 102nd IW, National Guard. This is a Bargaining Unit position. NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position Constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must have experience that provided a basic knowledge of data processing functions and general management principles that enabled the applicant to understand the stages required to automate a work process. Experience may have been gained in work such as computer operator or assistant, computer sales representative, program analyst, or other positions that required the use or adaptation of computer programs and systems. Experience in progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 1 year of specialized experience in integrating cyber principles and ensuring DoD compliance within IT engineering projects. This experience must include working knowledge of IT engineering methods and techniques, applying a comprehensive understanding of DoD, AF, NGB, and industry policies, standards, and directives to the design, planning, and development of IT engineering packages. Experience with integrated cyber concepts, principles, and practices into implementation strategies. Maintained currency with related technical standards (IEEE, TIA/EIA, BICSE, ANSI) and utilized knowledge of systems analysis, testing, IT engineering drawings, and installation guidance to ensure project success. Furthermore, possessed knowledge of multiple CADD and geospatial software programs, Civil Engineering programming practices related to MILCON and SRM projects, and E&I installation team disciplines. OR Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of months/years. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
