To date, we’ve raised over $300 million from world-renowned investors including Stripe, Tiger Global, Northzone, and Tencent. But this is just the beginning.

We’re looking for people who are excited about joining the Pay by Bank revolution and helping us change the way the world pays. Could this be you?

Description

We're looking for an IT Service Engineer to join our close-knit IT team in Milan. Reporting to the Senior IT Manager, you'll be part of a team of four, providing hands-on IT support to all TrueLayer staff — technical and non-technical — through our Freshservice helpdesk.

This is a varied, high-ownership role that sits at the heart of how our people work. From keeping documentation sharp and onboarding new joiners smoothly, to managing office infrastructure and resolving day-to-day issues, you'll have real impact from day one. Based in Milan with a hybrid working model (3 days per week in the office), you'll be a visible and valued presence for our on-site teams.

What we expect from you as an IT Service Engineer

  • Keep our documentation in Notion up-to-date.
  • Play a key role in the IT onboarding experience of new joiners at Truelayer, as well as streamlining the offboarding of leavers.
  • Support our IT equipment and infrastructure at our offices (e.g. meeting room AV, printers/scanners, WiFi network).
  • Escalate issues to senior colleagues when necessary.
  • Set up our Auditorium (Town Hall) meeting room AV when necessary.
  • Work from our Milan office 3 days per week to support onsite staff.
About you
  • Proven experience in an IT Engineering or IT Support role.
  • Hands-on experience managing and supporting macOS and iOS environments (our stack is Mac-first — no Windows).
  • A methodical, structured approach to troubleshooting, with a focus on root-cause resolution rather than surface-level fixes.
  • A genuine commitment to continuous learning — whether that's new tools, evolving processes, or emerging ways of working.
  • Comfortable using AI tools to enhance productivity and the quality of your work.
We would be particularly excited if you have
  • Experience in a fast-growing startup or scale-up environment, with comfort navigating pace and a degree of ambiguity.
  • Basic scripting or programming knowledge — even foundational skills go a long way.
  • Hands-on experience with Jamf Pro for device management.
  • Familiarity with an SSO solution, ideally Okta.
  • Experience with Google Workspace administration.

Don't meet all the requirements?

Multiple studies have shown that women and people of underrepresented groups are sometimes less likely to apply to jobs unless they meet every single requirement. At TrueLayer, we are committed to building a diverse workforce, so if you are excited about this role and have the essential skills, but not the entire checklist - we'd still love to hear from you!

Benefits
