Job Description

Location: Waterloo, WI

Type: Full-Time Internship ( 2 Interns)

Duration: Summer 2026: Starting June 1st

Trek’s IT Service Desk is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Intern to assist with the 2026 Computer Refresh Project. This internship offers hands-on experience in IT support, hardware deployment, and customer service. The Intern will work closely with the Service Desk team to prepare, configure, and deploy new computer systems to Trek employees, while gaining exposure to enterprise IT operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with staging, imaging, and deploying new computers as part of the 2026 refresh initiative
  • Support end users during the transition to new hardware, including data migration and setup
  • Perform basic troubleshooting of hardware and software issues during deployment
  • Maintain accurate records of deployments, inventory, and support interactions
  • Collaborate with Service Desk Technicians to ensure smooth rollout and minimal disruption
  • Provide excellent customer service to Trek employees, both in-person and remotely
  • Help document procedures and contribute to training materials for future refresh cycles
  • Other duties as assigned to support the IT Service Desk and refresh project

Learning Opportunities:

  • Exposure to enterprise IT systems including Active Directory, Office 365, and endpoint management tools
  • Experience with both Windows and macOS environments
  • Understanding of IT asset lifecycle management and deployment logistics
  • Development of technical troubleshooting and customer service skills

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
  • Basic knowledge of computer hardware and operating systems (Windows/macOS)
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Passion for technology and helping others
