Job Location: Hybrid from Ann Arbor, MI. You must reside and work within territory for this position.
Job Overview:
The IT Provisioning Intern will assist with configuring, imaging, and shipping IT equipment, ensuring accurate asset tracking and supporting user onboarding. This role involves basic troubleshooting, maintaining documentation, and contributing to knowledge base updates while learning enterprise IT processes.
Job Responsibilities:
Receive, unbox, and inspect new IT equipment (laptops, desktops, mobile devices)
Configure and image devices according to established guidelines
Install and configure necessary software applications
Prepare and ship equipment to new hires or other departments
Set up and deploy equipment at user locations
Update asset tracking systems with accurate and up-to-date information
Perform basic troubleshooting of hardware and software issues
Maintain a clean and organized work environment
Document all procedures and activities accurately within our Knowledge Management system
Assist with user onboarding and answer questions about new equipment
Comply with all company policies and procedures
In addition to responsibilities listed above:
Manage SLAs for shipping out computers and/or building accounts
Contribute to expanding our knowledge base with articles, FAQ's, etc.
Assist with projects/other duties as needed
Job Requirements:
Strong Technical Proficiency: Solid working knowledge of operating systems (Windows & macOS), software applications (Office 365 suite, Google Apps, etc.), and a variety of hardware. Able to support and troubleshoot beyond the basics
Experience: Typically 2–5 years of relevant IT support experience. Formal degrees or certifications (A+, Network+, etc.) are preferred
Understanding of Enterprise IT Tools: Familiarity with helpdesk ticketing systems and remote support tools
Networking and Connectivity Know-How: Can diagnose issues with Ethernet/LAN, Wi-Fi configuration, VPN connectivity, and basic network services. Knows when a network problem is likely and can coordinate with network admins if needed.
Problem-solving and Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex or layered problems, and develop step-by-step solutions.
Communication: Can translate technical jargon into user-friendly language. Is able to clearly document ticket notes and trouble-shooting steps.
Time Management and Organization: Demonstrates the ability to prioritize work and meet SLAs with little direction.
Team Collaboration: Works well with peers, including escalations or project teamwork. Open to feedback and knowledge sharing.
