We are looking for an IT Project Manager, Vice President, reporting directly to the Payments, Custody and Cash (Diogene) Program Manager. In this role, you will lead the coordination, management, and delivery of the Diogene IT change portfolio, overseeing multiple complex, global IT initiatives and their implementation. You will be responsible for driving end‑to‑end IT delivery, ensuring robust governance, effective risk and dependency management, and timely execution against demanding regulatory and business milestones, while working closely with senior stakeholders across business, operations, and global IT teams.
Why this role is important to us
In order for State Street to manage and oversee its multiple commitments to improving it’s Custody product offering and global operations, the role of Payments, Custody and Cash (Diogene) Project Manager at VP grade has been created. The role will be a direct report of Laura Doyle, MD – PCC (Diogene) Program Manager.
The PCC (Diogene) Project Manager will be responsible for co-ordinating, managing, and delivering the Diogene Project’s IT change portfolio and implementation. This includes core IT project management and the project’s change management governance and oversight model. This will include oversight and reporting of various internal and external IT projects, ensuring fit for purpose IT developments, detailed analysis, planning and managing of the Diogene project’s risk profile. A key element of the role will be managing multiple dependencies across various global IT teams in order to ensure delivery of the business outcomes. Critical will be the management of the project’s IT budget and staffing model.
Key to the role will be the development of clear plans, defined ownership and accountability of actions and deliverables, managed to aggressive and immovable timelines. Critical interfaces (typically at Working Group, Joint PMO and Program Steering Committee-level) will be with State Street business management, operations teams, internal Global IT dependencies, and local (i.e. Italy) senior management and Lines of Defense. This will require thorough MI, pertinent analysis, precise status reporting, and frequent, comprehensive Senior Management briefing presentations covering the Project Diogene IT execution status.
What you will be responsible for
Manage the Diogene IT portfolio. Manage the full scope of IT Change - oversee execution, analyse requirements and impact, and the validation of deliverables.
Day to day management of the Diogene IT feature (Agile) teams, including staffing, delivery, capacity and budget management.
Perform day-to-day control and oversight functions for Diogene IT execution, including Risk and Issue (RAID) analysis and reporting.
Collate, define, and analyse the multiple IT demand pipelines end-to-end. Condense this into clear, actionable tasks, sequencing/ road-mapping, and ensure comprehensive plans are produced to execute against.
Oversee the various individual Diogene IT initiatives and projects, identify, track and manage risks and issues, ensure dependencies are clearly captured, and ensure ownership and actions are clearly defined and not duplicated across projects or workstreams.
Manage budget and staffing forecasting, tracking and reporting requirements, produce clear Dashboard reporting including Diogene Project Reporting of overall deliverables, interdependencies, and critical path analysis.
Ensure governance of the portfolio adheres to corporate standards, including Change Management Framework. Interact and partner with the Joint Diogene PMO function effectively, including Demand Management, project governance improvements, reporting and dependency management.
Own reporting requirements to local corporate Senior Management, including frequent ad hoc, short notice, and tailored reporting demands for Diogene IT-related change.
Liaise between various functional (Operations, IT and Local Entity) Diogene Project Management Offices/ teams, and coordinate consensus on end-to-end, integrated project plans, status, and risk tracking.
Ensures that Diogene IT delivery, execution and requirements are incorporated into the overall Diogene program.
Ensure appropriate oversight and management, with particular emphasis on the governance of regulatory, mandatory and business-critical Diogene delivery.
Develop, refine and manage appropriate Management Information reporting for Diogene It Project across multiple workstreams and development (feature/ Agile) teams, including execution tracking.
Chair multiple project and workstream-level execution and oversight calls. Communicating project and program status updates to senior management, and stakeholders on a regular basis, and at short notice/ ad hoc as required.
Report issues, identify risks and challenges, manage and mitigate delays with the business, work closely with local project managers and Diogene leads to deliver accurate and timely project reporting, financial forecasting, tracking and reporting, produce clear senior Dashboard reporting.
Actively manage the delivery of target dates and program milestones so that deadlines are met and projects remain on target.
Resolve issues, decision-making and ownership of remediation/ path to green. Generate creative and innovative solutions to highly complex problems.
Serve as an escalation point, and point of contact for PCC Payments, Custody and Cash Program teams management in their engagements with their global and regional dependencies.

Education & Preferred Qualifications
Extensive (10 years +) experience in project management and managing change across multiple business units.
Previous IT, or business (Ops) change experience background preferable.
Knowledge and proven experience of managing complex, multi-workstream improvement or remediation programs. Relevant qualifications preferable (i.e. PRINCE 2, PMP etc)
Very strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
Fluent Italian and English (verbal and written) is essential.
Excellent influencing skills required.
Strong reporting, and presentation skills
Ability to work under pressure, high attention to detail
