Join our IT organization as an IT Project Manager III and contribute to sophisticated technology initiatives that enable Thermo Fisher Scientific's mission of making the world healthier, cleaner, and safer. You'll lead complex IT projects and programs while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions that advance our technological capabilities. As a member of our Project Management Office, you'll apply your expertise to ensure successful execution of projects from inception through delivery, build strong stakeholder relationships, and contribute to continuous improvement of our project management practices.

Requirements:


• Advanced Degree plus 5 years of experience, or bachelor's degree plus 7 years of experience managing complex IT projects through full lifecycle
• Preferred Fields of Study: Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field
• PMP certification preferred
• Agile/Scrum certifications (CSM, SAFe) highly desired
• Expertise in project scope, timeline, budget, and resource management
• Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies and frameworks (Scrum, SAFe)
• Proficiency with project management tools (Planview, JIRA, Microsoft Project)
• Experience with IT service management frameworks (ITIL) and quality management systems
• Demonstrated ability to guide and collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Experience in stakeholder management and executive-level communication
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with data-driven decision making
• Consistent record of delivering projects on time and within budget
• Experience with enterprise software implementations and integrations
• Knowledge of change management principles and methodologies
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment
• Experience with regulatory compliance (GxP, ISO) preferred
• Up to 10% travel may be required

The IT Project Manager is responsible for planning and delivering IT projects that support global business operations, including enhancements, upgrades, migrations, and integrations across ERP, CRM, Finance  Procure to Pay , Order to Cash, and related enterprise systems (e.g., SAP, JDE, SFDC), as well as selected infrastructure initiatives.

This role partners with cross-functional teams and global stakeholders to deliver high-quality, cost-effective technology solutions aligned with business priorities and IT strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, budgets, and resource requirements in collaboration with global stakeholders.
  • Develop, maintain, and execute detailed project plans.
  • Manage multiple small-to-medium projects or workstreams concurrently.
  • Monitor and control scope, schedule, cost, and quality.
  • Identify, track, and mitigate project risks and issues.
  • Facilitate project meetings, maintain documentation, and ensure governance compliance.
  • Provide regular project status updates to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with business and technical teams to gather and document requirements.
  • Support project gate reviews and escalate issues when appropriate.
  • Ensure adherence to IT governance, information security, and regulatory requirements.
  • Utilize project portfolio management (PPM) tools and dashboards for tracking and reporting.
  • Work effectively with globally distributed teams across EMEA, APAC, and US regions.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in IT project management or related IT delivery roles.
  • Experience working with enterprise systems such as ERP (SAP/JDE), CRM (SFDC), or similar platforms.
  • Experience supporting global or cross-functional teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP, CAPM, or Agile certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Experience supporting ERP/CRM implementations, upgrades, or integrations.
  • Familiarity with SaaS solutions and integration with legacy systems.
  • Experience working in a matrixed, global organization.
  • Strong understanding of project governance frameworks and lifecycle management.
