How you’ll make a difference: 

The Project Delivery Office (PDO) of the Business Technology Services division in Edmonton is currently seeking a motivated individual to fill the position of Project Manager. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing and delivering several projects simultaneously. This senior role encompasses all aspects of project management, including scope management, budget control, schedule adherence, deliverables management, communications, change management, and stakeholder engagement. As an experienced Project Manager, you will demonstrate exceptional communication and presentation skills across a range of forums and channels, particularly with executive and senior-level stakeholders.

Your responsibilities:

  • Lead complex, multi-stream technology and business projects in collaboration with business leaders and stakeholders. 
  • Develop and manage project plans, schedules, budgets, risks, and status reports within WCB standards and project management methodologies.
  • Foster close collaboration with project/delivery teams, business areas, and external parties to ensure successful identification and management of interdependencies.
  • Lead the development and review of project requirements in conjunction with Business Areas, Delivery Managers, Business Case Owners, Architects, and Technical Leads to ensure alignment with business objectives and planned benefits.
  • Proactively identify, assess, and escalate significant issues and risks to leadership in a timely manner.
  • Ensure completion of organizational change management activities to facilitate project adoption.
  • Deliver status updates and progress reports to senior management.

Your experience and skills:

  • Advanced training or certification in Project Management is desirable, with possession of a recognized professional project management designation (PMP, PMI-ACP, etc.) strongly preferred.
  • A degree in Commerce/Business or Information Technology related field, coupled with several years of experience managing large, multi-stakeholder technology projects.
  • Ability to quickly grasp new business processes and operating practices and apply this knowledge to enhance project planning and delivery.
  • Experience in Statement of Work development and participation in contract negotiations.
  • Proficiency in using multiple project management tools to plan and execute projects.
  • A minimum of 5 years of applied and progressive experience leading complex projects involving multidisciplinary teams comprising both technical and non-technical resources.
  • Capacity to identify efficiencies and linkages with other projects, and adeptness at managing and prioritizing multiple projects with evolving requirements and priorities.
  • Ability to integrate technical expertise with strong conceptual and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated initiative and independence of action.
  • Strong business acumen and strategic agility to identify and pursue innovative approaches to ensure effective project outcomes.

Salary:  $98,323.00 to $127,959.00 per annum (Salary Grade 13) (includes market supplement)

Successful candidate must reside in Alberta and be able to work in person from our Edmonton downtown office as required. Final candidates are required to undergo a security clearance as a condition of employment.
