Glimpse of the Job

The IT Professional II is a member of the Tier III team, located at the Health Science Center complex in Bryan, that supports statewide infrastructure systems. This team serves as the final escalation point for tickets from campus members and local IT support within Tamu Health. This position works closely with the Systems Administrator who manages the team, and the Senior IT professional located at the Clinical Education Building in Dallas.

The focus involves troubleshooting and repairing complex hardware and software issues for servers, performing systems administration, managing desktop and mobile updates as well as user accounts and access.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Three years of related experience in IT

A well-qualified candidate will have one or more of the following:

  • Experience in clinical or healthcare IT environments with Tier III technical support

  • Knowledge of clinical systems (HER, PACS, VDI, digital imaging) and software including Axium, Dolphin, MiPACS, Infinitt, and 3Shape

  • Knowledge of server infrastructure, networking, virtual machines, windows server, group policy, ManageEngine, and VMware

  • Experience consulting with academic or clinical leadership on technical requirements

  • Experience researching and evaluating emerging technologies

Location: In-person role in Bryan, TX at Health Science Center Complex  (CB1)

Schedule: This role may require working on-call or outside of standard office hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to support the demands of technology services and ensure the seamless operation of essential systems.
