Job Description:
The IT Product Manager is responsible for executing the product management lifecycle for their assigned portfolio and supporting initiatives from the overarching guest experience roadmap. This individual will work closely with the product partners to design and develop frictionless customer experiences that work to leverage technology to better market to our consumers and communicate with our team members, supporting the end goal of making both groups lives’ simpler and more enjoyable. He or she is responsible for supporting product direction and ensuring execution of communication and reporting activities associated with RaceTrac’s key consumer touchpoints. Up to 20% travel required.
What You'll Do:
- Leads current product roadmap initiatives and works closely with leaders as they filter projects down relating to long-term strategy.
- Works closely with stakeholders to help develop, understand, and influence product strategy and roadmaps, aggregate and conceive ideas for enhancing product performance and achieving product success/KPIs.
- Collaborates with IS and business stakeholders to lead requirements gathering, determine features, and write user stories for products that include acceptance criteria and acceptance tests.
- Leads the agile team’s priorities and updates in daily standups, sprint planning, and other agile ceremonies, working in collaboration with business partners, user experience design, & a variety of technology partners.
- Develops deep understanding of the target user, the end-to-end customer experience, the product vision, and success criteria for the product portfolio.
- Leads Agile backlog grooming sessions by presenting upcoming features to our development team.
- Partners with solution architects and other technical leads to ensure their solutions effectively address the product and program priorities.
- Manages a prioritized product backlog, with input from IS leaders and other business stakeholders.
- Can effectively communicate prioritization decisions and the agile process to various teams.
- Serves as the spokesperson of business strategy to our development teams and escalation point for Product Owners during development sprints to help remove roadblocks and answer questions.
Product Strategy Support
- Helps drive functionality for specific RaceTrac-owned customer touchpoints and serves as product expert
- Oversees product maintenance and decisions that maximize value to customer and business
- Engages in on-going consumer research, analysis, and testing to identify pain points and opportunities related to specific product portfolio. Translates user needs into product strategy
- Consistently tracks and publishes KPIs to measure impact of owned products
Delivery
- Blends strong business acumen, technical problem solving and agile execution in c-store environments
- Defines the user journey through story mapping and documents detailed business requirements through user stories and acceptance criteria
- Ensures the product meets quality and business specifications to deliver best-in-class designed experiences with performance and customer experience top-of-mind
Team Interaction
- Indirectly leads resources and delegates workflows to support the agile development process and overall product strategy.
- Presents potential product strategy, data-based recommendations, and outcomes to senior leaders.
What We're Looking For:
- 7+ years’ experience in managing product portfolios; minimum of 2 years focused on (product) development and/or product marketing
- Bachelor’s Degree from a 4-year College or University or equivalent experience required; Advanced degree or professional certifications preferred
- Experience with agile methodology is strongly preferred, TFS software experience is a plus
- Demonstrated technical acumen and an ability to work with the technology organization to align product and technology roadmaps
- Experience defining and delivering large-scale initiatives including stakeholder management, requirements elicitation, testing and communication planning
- People management experience preferred
