Clayton Utz is one of Australia's leading law firms, known for its commitment to excellence, innovation and collaboration. We invest in our people and in the technology that supports the delivery of outstanding legal services to our clients. Our Information Technology (IT) team plays a central role in driving that investment forward.
About the Role
We are currently recruiting for an IT Product Analyst to join our IT team in Sydney on a full-time, permanent basis. This is a newly created growth opportunity that will play a central role in enhancing the firm's enterprise applications and delivering workflow solutions that make a real difference to how we work.
This is a hands-on role that sits at the intersection of technology and business improvement. You will design and build workflow automations, support and configure key firm platforms, and collaborate with a variety of stakeholders across the business to turn operational needs into practical, efficient solutions.
If you thrive on solving problems, improving processes and getting beneath the surface of enterprise systems, this role is for you.
What You Will Do
Design, configure and maintain workflow and automation solutions across firm platforms, identifying opportunities to replace manual processes with efficient, rule-based alternatives.
Provide second-level application support for firm business systems, managing system configuration, user access, workflows and day-to-day administration.
Support platform upgrades and enhancements by reviewing release notes, assessing system impacts and assisting with license administration and governance.
Assist in documenting business processes, functional requirements and solution designs, working closely with project managers, technical teams and business stakeholders.
Analyse existing workflows and processes to identify improvement opportunities and support the delivery of workflow-driven technology initiatives.
Prepare and execute system test plans, support UAT, and identify defects and usability issues.
Monitor platform updates, feature releases and vendor roadmaps, evaluating new capabilities and recommending improvements to how the firm uses its systems.
Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by sharing knowledge, developing documentation and proactively identifying ways to enhance system capability and operational efficiency.
What You Will Bring
3–5 years' experience in application or helpdesk support, systems configuration or similar IT roles.
Tertiary qualifications in IT, Computer Science or a related field, or relevant certifications in business analysis, automation platforms or product administration will be highly valued.
Familiarity with workflow systems, rule-based automation and process automation tools, with the ability to spot opportunities for improvement.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business needs into practical technical solutions.
The ability to explain technical concepts in plain language to both technical and non-technical audiences, and to produce high-quality documentation including process diagrams and functional specifications.
A collaborative, team oriented approach with the ability to build effective working relationships within a cross-functional environment.
A naturally curious and adaptable mindset towards learning new technologies and process automation.
