IT Legal Associate

The IT Legal Associate position supports gategroup’s IT function on matters relating to IT contracts, technology law, and intellectual property (IP).

Positioned at the intersection of law and technology, the role provides legal support for a broad range of IT-related agreements and digital initiatives, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, internal policies, and corporate governance standards.

The position contributes to the review, drafting, and negotiation of technology contracts and supports IT governance, legal operations, and IP-related matters in alignment with business objectives and risk management requirements within a global environment.

  • Assist in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating IT-related agreements, including software licenses, SaaS, cloud services, IT procurement, consulting, and other technology contracts, ensuring alignment with legal and business requirements.
  • Support the compliance of global IT contracts and digital initiatives with applicable laws, internal policies, and corporate governance standards, escalating complex or high-risk matters as appropriate.
  • Coordinate IT contract review requests by collecting input from relevant stakeholders and tracking progress.Prepare documents for signature and ensure executed agreements are properly stored and archived.Assist with due diligence activities and support third-party risk assessment processes.Track contract lifecycle activities, including maintaining records and monitoring deadlines.Provide administrative support, including data entry, document management, and validation of information in legal systems.Support the maintenance and improvement of legal tools, templates, and internal processes.
  • Conduct legal research in the areas of technology law, IT law, intellectual property, and data protection, and translate findings into actionable guidance for business teams.
  • Support digital transformation initiatives by advising on legal aspects of emerging technology projects, including AI solutions, cloud migrations, and automation initiatives.
  • Help maintain and update IT governance documents, templates, and internal guidance materials to ensure consistency and compliance.
  • Support intellectual property matters, including trademark monitoring, and administrative coordination of.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions and coordinate with external counsel where required.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law.
  • Specialization or academic exposure to IT law, technology law, intellectual property, or data protection is preferred.

 Work Experience

  • Fresh graduate or up to 2 years of relevant professional experience gained in a law firm, in-house legal department, or multinational corporate environment.
  • Initial experience in drafting and reviewing commercial agreements; exposure to IT-related contracts, intellectual property, or data protection matters is preferred.
  • Experience working in an international or cross-functional environment, with demonstrated ability to conduct legal research and prepare structured written analyses, is an advantage.

Technical / Language Skills

  • Strong academic background with well-developed legal drafting, analytical, and research skills.
  • Foundational understanding of IT contracts, technology law, intellectual property, and data protection principles.
  • Structured and organized work approach, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deliver high-quality output within deadlines.
  • Proactive and curious mindset, demonstrating initiative while remaining open to guidance and feedback.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to draft clear and precise legal documentation involving complex legal and commercial concepts. Another European language proficiency is an advantage.
