Job Description:

Brindley Engineering is seeking a highly motivated and technically curious IT Intern to join our IT Operations team in Houston for the summer. This position offers hands-on experience supporting enterprise users, administering Microsoft 365 environments, and assisting with network and systems troubleshooting within a professional consulting engineering environment. The intern will work closely with IT team members while gaining exposure to real-world IT operations and best practices.

 

IT Intern Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supporting enterprise users by diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and connectivity issues across Windows and macOS systems
  • Assisting with user provisioning, group management, and identity configuration using Active Directory and the Microsoft 365 Admin Center
  • Helping design, configure, and secure SharePoint Online team sites to improve document management and access controls
  • Troubleshooting basic network issues using foundational knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP for both local and remote users
  • Collaborating with IT team members to support daily operations, system improvements, and technology initiatives
  • Demonstrating initiative in learning new technologies, tools, and IT best practices

 

Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or Management Information Systems
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Ability to work a minimum of 20 hours per week during the school year
  • Hands-on experience or relevant coursework in enterprise hardware and software troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 / Office 365, Azure, Active Directory, and Microsoft Endpoint Management
  • Experience working with Windows and macOS operating systems
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment
