IT Infrastructure Intern

What's the Short Version?

The IT Infrastructure Intern is responsible for assisting the IT Infrastructure Hosting and Services teams during an 8 week program.

 

What Will You Be Doing?

  • Learn from different infrastructure teams (network, server, telephony, database, and virtual infrastructure) about their roles and impact to the organization.
  • Assist with installation, removal, configuration, and maintenance of IT infrastructure.
  • Help monitor system performance, availability, and backups.
  • Document procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Support inventory tracking of IT Infrastructure assets.
  • Participate in infrastructure projects such as patching, refreshes and upgrades.
  • Follow IT policies, standards, and best practices.
  • Participate in intern cohort activities including: professional development workshops, warehouse tours, and meetings with leadership.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Comply with all policies and standards.

 

What Are We Looking For?

  • Currently working towards a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Understanding of server operating systems, virtualization, network, and databases
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Active Directory, or similar enterprise tools is a plus
  • Technical support certifications (e.g., Azure, A+, Server+, CCNA, etc.) are a plus
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and challenges.

 

What's Our Offer?

Pay: You`ll earn $25.00 on an hourly basis.

Paid Time Off: You`ll accrue paid time off on a weekly basis based on hours worked.

 

What Should You Expect?

Office: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel, and stand and walk. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Ability to work on computer and mobile phone for multiple hours; with frequent interruptions. The employee may be required to lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. Work environment is moderately quiet. Required to travel in elevator or stairwells to attend meetings and engage with associates on multiple floors throughout building. SanMar's Eastpointe office is located near Seattle, WA and our standard working hours are 8:00-5:00 PST. Quarterly travel may be required.
