Job Description:

The IT Project Controller will own and actively drive project controlling for complex PG IT initiatives across the full project lifecycle and multiple IT departments. The role is expected to build up and elevate project controlling as such, driving transparency, clarity, and a strong connection between financials, project planning, and execution. Acting as a close financial partner to IT Project Managers, the position works hands-on and close to delivery, engaging senior stakeholders and independently driving topics forward in an environment that is not always clearly defined. The role combines strong financial expertise with a proactive, execution-focused mindset.

How you will make an impact:

  • Own and drive project cost controlling for assigned PG IT projects across the full lifecycle
  • Build up and continuously improve the project controlling structure, including processes, data flows and financial governance
  • Steer project financials by actively monitoring actuals vs. budget, forecast, cost to complete and cash flow
  • Design, implement and own Power BI–based project controlling reporting, supported by Power BI experts
  • Translate project scope, resources and timelines into clear financial impacts (capex / Opex)
  • Ensure compliant and accurate financial reporting in line with company policies and IFRS requirements
  • Challenge assumptions and scenarios, applying sound financial judgment and “what if” thinking
  • Establish and maintain financial baselines, tracking impacts and variances over time
  • Actively contribute to and drive forecast, budget and planning cycles
  • Work closely with IT, Finance, vendors and controlling counterparts to enable fact-based decision making

Your Background:

  •  Minimum 4+ years of experience in project controlling, financial controlling or project finance, preferably in IT or transformation environments
  • Proven ability to work independently and drive topics end to end in a matrix, multinational organization
  • Strong understanding of project lifecycle, project execution and financial steering
  • Solid knowledge of IFRS, especially capitalization of IT and software development costs
  • Experience building or improving project controlling structures, not only operating existing ones
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously in an ambiguous environment
  • Strong analytical skills combined with a pragmatic, solution-oriented mindset
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP systems (e.g. SAP); Power BI exposure an advantage
