JOB PURPOSE
This role exists to ensure operational excellence that enables our brands to thrive by driving digital transformation and supporting critical IT infrastructure. The Independence IT Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting information technology and digital infrastructure solutions within the organization. This includes ensuring the smooth functioning of IT systems, hardware integration, and cybersecurity compliance while collaborating with internal stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions. The IT Engineer will work on networks, servers, software, hardware, and control systems to support both business and factory operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Design, configure, and deploy IT systems and infrastructure, including networks, servers, and cloud environments to support a 24×7 manufacturing operation.
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot technical issues to minimize downtime.
• Implement and maintain security protocols to protect data and systems from threats.
• Conduct regular server & infrastructure updates, patches, and backups to ensure reliability and data integrity.
• Manage user access and permissions for site applications and systems.
• Develop and integrate software applications with on-site hardware and existing modules.
• Perform upgrades and basic troubleshooting for software systems and hardware connectivity issues as needed to keep systems running 24×7.
• Act as the primary contact for resolving hardware/software issues within the site’s digital infrastructure.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders during design and implementation of digital transformation projects.
• Serve as liaison for external stakeholders and ensure corporate systems function effectively on-site.
• Execute Unilever Cyber Security initiatives as the acting Technical Authority at the Independence site.
• Support control systems and electrical design, including technical drawings, installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting for equipment used in continuous production.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
• Strong knowledge of networking protocols, operating systems (Windows, Linux), and hardware components.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to communicate complex technical information clearly to non-technical users.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Willingness to learn and apply Unilever Specific policies and infrastructure design.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Proven experience in IT engineering, systems administration, or similar role preferred.
• Experience with virtualization, cloud platforms (Azure, AWS), and cybersecurity best practices.
• Relevant certifications (CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, Cisco CCNA) are a plus.
• Experience with scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, Bash) for automation.
• Project management skills and experience working in cross-functional teams.
• Knowledge of ITIL framework and service management principles.
• Familiarity with industrial control systems and instrumentation.
Pay: The pay range for this position is $69,360 to $104,040. Unilever takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs.
Bonus: This position is bonus eligible.
Long-Term Incentive (LTI): This position is LTI eligible.
