Overview of the Role
Reporting to the Vice President of IT PMO, the IT Director of PMO Governance and Portfolio Management will lead the strategic oversight of IT project governance, portfolio optimization, and compliance. This role ensures technology initiatives align with business objectives while driving efficiency, transparency, and value delivery across the enterprise. Key responsibilities include the planning and delivery oversight of the global portfolio of projects, managing IT project demand intake and gating processes, overseeing PMO tools, financial governance, and analytics, while fostering strong stakeholder relationships and guiding high-performing teams to achieve organizational goals.
How you will make contributions that matter:
Governance & Compliance
Establish and maintain PMO governance frameworks, standards, and best practices.
Ensure adherence to compliance and audit requirements across IT projects.
Portfolio & Program Management
Oversee portfolio prioritization, resource allocation, and risk mitigation.
Drive alignment of IT initiatives with organizational strategy.
Lead a team of Portfolio Managers and provide delivery oversight for programs and projects.
Lead and shape projects through vendor evaluations, project planning, and estimating to ensure optimal delivery approaches
Drive the ongoing evolution of our delivery methodologies, ranging from waterfall to agile
Evolve the PMO governance and processes to manage within a hybrid operating model, including both projects and product teams.
Analytics & Reporting
Develop dashboards and KPIs to monitor portfolio performance and project health.
Provide executive-level reporting and insights for decision-making.
Financial Oversight
Lead budgeting, cost tracking, and financial forecasting for the global base of IT projects.
PMO Tools & Technology Enablement
Manage configuration, troubleshooting, and upgrades for PMO tools.
Continuous Improvement
Standardize processes, update methodologies, and implement best practices.
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
Build communication plans and maintain strong relationships with IT and business leaders.
Deliver clear, impactful updates and presentations tailored to audience needs, including executive leadership.
Leadership
Lead and develop high-performing PMO teams, fostering collaboration and accountability.
You Are Best Suited for The Role If You Have the Following Qualifications:
Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Accounting, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
10+ years in IT Project Management, PMO leadership, or portfolio governance.
Demonstrated experience in leading and developing high-performing teams.
Proven track record in managing enterprise-level portfolios and governance frameworks.
Experience leading a large program from planning to closure
Strong knowledge of financial management and IT project accounting policies.
Understanding of SAP Change/Release Management and Environment Management
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, MS Project, Excel) and SharePoint; advanced Excel analytics and experience with dashboarding tools (e.g., Power BI).
Experience with testing delivery cycles and tools, including Test Automation, OpenText ALM
Strategic thinking, leadership, and influencing skills.
Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities, including:
Ability to adapt messaging for different audiences and provide updates to VP and executive levels.
Skilled at building relationships with internal teams and external partners.
Expertise in preparing executive-level presentations that tell a compelling story and drive decisions.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities.
Experience working with global teams and across multiple time zones.
Ability to operate in a complex, fast-paced environment with interdependencies across workstreams, divisions, geographies, and languages.

SALARY RANGE: $145,244 - $190,633
*Salary offers will vary commensurate with experience, education, skills, and training.
