What you will do

Join Johnson Controls’ transformative journey as we accelerate our technology modernisation and integration agenda across the EMEALA Subscriber business units.

As IT Business Partner, Director for Subscriber, you will provide strategic IT leadership and partnership, ensuring technology initiatives are aligned with business objectives and deliver measurable value.

You will lead a team of permanent and contract professionals to drive digital transformation, strengthen operational excellence, and enhance customer and employee experiences through technology.

How you will do it

Strategic Leadership

  • Align UKI and EMEALA Subscriber IT strategy with enterprise priorities and regional business goals.

  • Formulate long-term technology roadmaps (e.g. ERP consolidation) and capability advancement plans.

  • Act as the primary interface between business leadership and global IT, ensuring demand is prioritised and managed effectively.

  • Provide insight and thought leadership on emerging technologies that can accelerate business growth and efficiency.

Operational Excellence

  • Oversee the delivery of IT portfolios and initiatives, ensuring timely execution and measurable outcomes.

  • Drive standardisation, simplification, and automation across systems and platforms.

  • Lead regional application rationalisation, cloud migration, and cybersecurity compliance in support of global programmes.

  • Champion process optimisation, data quality, and reporting improvements.

Transformation & Innovation

  • Champion digital initiatives including AI, analytics, RPA, and low-code automation to improve productivity and user experience.

  • Lead efforts to reduce technical debt and modernise legacy systems.

  • Support sustainability and employee engagement objectives within IT.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build trust through transparent communication and consistent delivery.

  • Partner with Business Unit General Managers, and Functional Directors to shape demand and set expectations.

  • Represent IT in regional leadership forums, strategic planning sessions, and transformation steering groups.

Team Leadership

  • Lead and develop a team of approximately 20 permanent and 40 contract staff across UKI and Subscriber domains.

  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

  • Build future capability through structured career development, mentoring, and upskilling programmes.

What we look for

Required

  • Proven experience in senior IT leadership, business partnering, or transformation roles within a complex, multi-country organisation.

  • Demonstrable success in managing large teams and outsourced partners to deliver technology-enabled change.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to influence at executive level.

  • Strategic thinking and business acumen, with a focus on measurable business outcomes.

  • Strong understanding of IT governance, cybersecurity, and enterprise architecture principles.

  • Willingness to travel within the EMEALA region as required.

Preferred

  • Experience in industrial, building technologies, or service-based industries.

  • Strong knowledge of project management, AI and agile delivery methods

  • Demonstrated ability to bridge the gap between IT and business teams, fostering collaboration and joint ownership of results.

  • Proficiency in Spanish or Portuguese.
