The IT Developer – PDM designs, implements, customizes, and maintains KONE’s Product Data Management (PDM) solutions, which are primarily based on commercial VariSuite PLM/PDM platform with significant custom development.
The role focuses on building high‑quality, scalable, and maintainable PDM capabilities using Java‑ and Tcl‑based customizations, deployed and operated in AWS‑hosted environments.
In addition to hands‑on development, the role carries strong responsibility for operability, production readiness, and long‑term sustainability of PDM services, working closely with DevOps, operations, architects, and business stakeholders.
What You Will Do
Design, implement, and maintain custom extensions and integrations for KONE’s commercial PDM solutions using Java and Tcl
Take end‑to‑end responsibility for the quality, correctness, and maintainability of PDM customizations and integrations
Build PDM solutions that are production‑ready, scalable, and supportable in AWS‑hosted environments
Use modern software development tools such as GitHub for version control and collaboration, GitHub Copilot or similar AI‑assisted tools to improve development efficiency, and CI/CD pipelines to ensure consistent delivery
Work with Jira to manage backlog items, track progress, and support transparent delivery
Use Confluence to create and maintain clear technical, architectural, and operational documentation
Collaborate closely with product owners, architects, DevOps, operations, and business stakeholders to align development with platform and business needs
Contribute to production readiness and go‑live activities, ensuring operational risks are identified and mitigated
Support troubleshooting, incident analysis, and root‑cause investigations for PDM‑related issues together with DevOps and operations teams
Ensure solutions meet architecture, security, and compliance requirements
Actively participate in Agile and DevOps ways of working, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives
Continuously improve development practices, automation, and overall PDM platform sustainability
Take part in task forces, cross‑team initiatives, and mentoring when needed
What We’re Looking For
Technical skills
Strong hands‑on experience in Java‑based enterprise development
Experience developing or maintaining Tcl‑based customizations or scripting
Practical experience working with commercial PLM/PDM platforms and their customization frameworks
Experience working in AWS‑hosted production environments
Strong working knowledge of GitHub for version control, code reviews, and collaborative development
Experience using modern developer productivity tools, such as GitHub Copilot or similar AI‑assisted development tools, Jira for agile planning, backlog management, and delivery tracking and Confluence or similar tools for technical and operational documentation
Understanding of PLM/PDM business processes, product structures, and product data flows
Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and release management
Understanding of production operations, incident handling, and supportability
Ability to work with technical architecture and service documentation to ensure continuity and accuracy
Preferred experience
Experience developing and supporting heavily customized commercial PLM/PDM solutions in complex, enterprise‑scale environments
Hands‑on experience working with AWS‑hosted, globally used production systems, with awareness of availability, performance, and operability requirements
Experience working in cross‑functional, multi‑vendor DevOps teams, collaborating across development, operations, architecture, and business stakeholders

Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
