Essential Functions:
- This position reports to the IT Manager, Data and Analytics and has no direct or indirect reports.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to define metrics, guidelines, and strategies for effective use of data and information.
- Plan, document, and enforce data standards and architecture with teams.
- Engage with Data and Analytics and business teams to identify, design, and implement data management and analytical tools.
- Assist in the development of data management policies and procedures and data lifecycle management.
- Conduct research and make recommendations on big data infrastructure, database technologies, analytics tools, services, protocols, and standards.
- Support user community with Data Management tools.
- Drive the collection of new data and the refinement of existing data sources.
- Develop tools and libraries that will help Data Analytics team members more efficiently interface with large amounts of data.
- Develop, implement, and maintain change control and testing processes for modifications to data analytics.
- Collaborate with database and disaster recovery administrators to ensure effective protection and integrity of data assets.
- Manage and/or provide guidance to junior members of the Data Analytics team.
Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):
- Preferred Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years relevant experience or Associate’s degree with 5+ years relevant experience or 7+ years of relevant experience.
- Strong working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases.
- Strong analytical skills related to working with structured and unstructured datasets.
- Build processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency, and workload management.
- Ability to manipulate, process, and extract value from large, disconnected datasets.
- Working knowledge of message queuing, stream processing, and highly scalable ‘big data’ data stores.
- Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
- Strong project management experience.
- Ability to learn and understand organization’s goals and objectives.
- Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
