We are seeking a talented individual to join our team at Marsh. This role will be based in Urbandale, Iowa. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
Marsh is seeking a highly skilled IT Business Analyst with strong expertise in managing insurance-related programs and initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to engage directly with clients, manage program lifecycles independently, and support application modernization efforts. This role requires advanced data analysis skills, strong collaboration with technical teams, and demonstrated proficiency in leveraging AI and automation tools to drive process efficiencies and deliver business value.
We will count on you to:
Manage end-to-end insurance program lifecycles, including new builds, renewals, and ongoing client support.
Gather, analyze, and document detailed business and technical requirements aligned with organizational goals.
Translate business needs into clear technical specifications for development and quality assurance teams.
Lead data transition projects and perform advanced data analysis using SQL and Excel to support reporting and validation.
Identify and implement process improvements leveraging AI and automation to enhance operational efficiency.
Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including test case development and issue resolution with development teams.
Communicate proactively with clients, end users, and stakeholders, providing status updates and training to support adoption.
Maintain comprehensive documentation, manage multiple high-priority projects, and support project management for successful delivery.
What you need to have:
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and SQL, with experience writing and optimizing queries for data analysis and reporting.
Demonstrated expertise in application modernization consulting within insurance or related domains, including eliciting, documenting, and translating complex business requirements into technical specifications.
Experience coordinating and executing User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and functional testing to ensure quality deliverables.
Proficient in leveraging AI and automation tools (e.g., RPA platforms, AI-driven analytics, Power Automate) to streamline processes, combined with a strong understanding of insurance accounting principles such as accounts receivable, invoice management, cash processing, premium reconciliation, and installment processing.
Proven ability to independently manage insurance or related business programs with strong organizational skills to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
Excellent client-facing skills, capable of engaging and communicating effectively with diverse stakeholders, including virtual and offshore teams.
What makes you stand out:
Experience with insurance software in large-scale environments (brokers, carriers) as an end user or business analyst.
Familiarity with process modeling tools and methodologies to support business analysis and process improvement.
Working knowledge of Azure DevOps (ADO) or similar issue tracking and project management tools.
