IT Business Analyst - Artificial Intelligence
The AI Function Risks and Ethics team within Roche Digital Technology (RDT) is dedicated to translating responsible AI principles into practice to enable the full potential of AI while minimizing risk through ethical, compliant, and efficient AI implementation across the organization. A key enabler of this mission is the AI Registry, an enterprise AI use-case governance platform that operationalizes Responsible AI & Governance requirements through integrated workflows, controls, automation, analytics, and reporting.
We are looking for a highly skilled Business Analyst play a central role in embedding Responsible AI and governance processes into the AI Registry platform. This role bridges AI governance, business needs, and technical implementation. The Business Analyst partners closely with governance stakeholders (AI strategy, legal, security, IT, quality, ethics, and compliance) to define and evolve Responsible AI requirements, and works with engineering teams to translate those requirements into scalable platform capabilities. The role also contributes to the definition, evaluation, and continuous improvement of Responsible AI governance processes and how effectively they are supported by the AI Registry. The ideal candidate has an innovative mindset with a strong interest in emerging AI technologies, enjoying working at the forefront of new developments and translating business processes into enterprise-grade solutions.
The Opportunity
Partner with AI strategy, legal, compliance, ethics, IT security, quality, and other governance stakeholders to understand, refine, and document Responsible AI requirements
Contribute to the definition and evolution of Responsible AI governance processes, standards, and completion criteria
Act as a key interface between governance bodies and technical delivery teams
Translate Responsible AI principles, policies, and governance requirements into concrete AI Registry workflows, data models, controls, and automation
Ensure Responsible AI requirements are consistently and scalably operationalized through the platform
Support alignment between governance intent and platform implementation
Elicit, analyze, and document business, functional, and non-functional requirements
Translate stakeholder requirements into clear, implementable technical requirements and user stories for engineering teams
Maintain traceability between governance requirements, platform features, and delivered outcomes
Analyze and design end-to-end Responsible AI and AI governance processes
Identify opportunities to standardize and automate processes via the AI Registry
Support the definition of acceptance criteria, completion criteria, and success measures for platform features and processes
Assess how well the AI Registry supports business, governance, and regulatory needs
Provide structured feedback on platform capabilities, gaps, and improvement opportunities
Gather and synthesize feedback from stakeholders and users to inform roadmap and prioritization decisions
Work closely with Full Stack Engineers, DevOps engineers, QA testers, data scientists, and Product Owners
Support Agile ways of working, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives
Use tools such as Jira and Confluence to manage requirements, documentation, and traceability
Who you are
5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or in a similar role
Hold a B.Sc., B.A., M.Sc., M.B.A., or equivalent degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field
Business Analysis: Strong experience in requirements elicitation, functional analysis, and documentation
Stakeholder Management: Proven ability to work with diverse stakeholders and navigate complex enterprise environments
Process Engineering: Experience in process mapping, design, and optimization, including automation
AI & GenAI Knowledge: Solid understanding of AI, GenAI, and machine learning concepts to support governance and requirement discussions
Responsible AI Concepts: Familiarity with Responsible AI principles, risks, and evaluation concepts
Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities, ability to operate with a high-degree of initiative, anticipating needs and acting independently to deliver outcomes
Communication: Strong verbal and written English skills, with the ability to clearly translate business needs into technical requirements for different teams.
Be willing to work at a time consistent with CET and ET time zones
