Position Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and organized Manager to join our IT Asset Management (ITAM) team. The ideal candidate will have experience in hardware asset lifecycle management, risk and governance frameworks, and process automation. This role will oversee asset operations and services for end users at Freddie Mac’s McLean, VA office, focusing on streamlining processes, driving cost savings, improving efficiency, and ensuring compliance through strong documentation practices. The Manager will ensure risk mitigation, optimize asset utilization, and implement best practices to support our team’s objectives.

Your Impact:

    • Implement the mission of IT Desktop Hardware Asset Management by maintaining hardware assets across the enterprise and providing exceptional end-user support.
    • Lead the lifecycle management of desktop and mobile asset platforms, including procurement, deployment, maintenance, returns, and disposal.
    • Identify and implement opportunities to improve process and procedure efficiency through automation tools, workflows, and scripting (PowerShell).
    • Ensure risk management practices are embedded in ITAM operations, including compliance with regulatory requirements, internal controls, and governance frameworks.
    • Oversee equipment evaluations, imaging, data retention, and disposals, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and industry standards.
    • Provide support for onboarding, tech refresh, and replacement requests, including deployment, relocation, and return of assets.
    • Maintain accurate records of IT hardware assets using the ServiceNow HAM module and conduct periodic inventory audits and reconciliations.
    • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for all ITAM processes, ensuring transparency, audit readiness, and adherence to governance standards.
    • Process hardware requests and orders in coordination with procurement and vendor teams, running workload through a ticketing system.
    • Collaborate closely with IT support, facilities, finance, and security teams for asset allocation and tracking, and assist with reporting on asset metrics and utilization trends.
    • Physically handle and move IT equipment, lifting up to 50 lbs. as needed during deployment, retrieval, and inventory processes.

Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of experience with IT Hardware Asset Management (preferred)
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, related field or equivalent work experience (preferred)
  • Solid understanding of ITAM principles encompassing physical, financial, and contractual aspects.
  • IAITAM certifications (CHAMP, CITAM) or other IT hardware-focused certifications a plus
  • Knowledge of SCCM, ServiceNow, CMDB, and Workspace One.
  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation, reporting, and operational tasks.
  • Experience in process automation and workflow optimization within ITAM environments.
  • Strong documentation skills to support roadmaps, governance, compliance, and audit requirements.
  • Understanding of risk management principles and governance frameworks in IT asset operations.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to build and report relevant metrics/trends.

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $114,000 - $172,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
