Position Overview:

Finning Canada is excited to welcome an IT Asset Coordinator to our team at the Finning Edmonton OEM office. In this key role, you will support the full lifecycle management of IT assets across the organization, ensuring our technology is tracked, audited, and maintained with accuracy and care. Reporting to the IT Asset Manager, you will play a critical part in driving compliance, optimizing asset utilization, and enabling data‑driven decision‑making.

Working collaboratively with procurement, IT support, and finance teams, you will help ensure assets are efficiently acquired, deployed, supported, and retired. Your expertise will contribute directly to strengthening our IT governance framework and enhancing the overall effectiveness of our technology environment.

Job Description:

Major Job Functions:

PC & Printer Deployments

  • Work with PC, printer and IT accessory vendors (Dell, Lexmark)
  • Responsible for client assets including, but not limited to, laptops, monitors, printers, miscellaneous peripherals.
  • Accountable to ensure that IT assets are delivered and received by the end user
  • Accountable to ensure that IT assets are replaced or retired depending on lease end dates or end of life
  • Assist in the tracking and management of all IT asset throughout its operating life.
  • Authorize vendor change orders – purchases, moves & buyouts
  • Collaboration with internal departments to meet their PC & printing needs
  • Investigate and recovery of dark devices
  • Report off-line printer page counts for billing purposes & toner deliveries
  • Continuous Process Improvement

Accessory Management Requests & Incidents

  • Inventory validation – corrections and updates
  • Investigate unused & missing devices
  • Arrange lease return or recycle PC and printer hardware
  • Responsible for all requests related to deployment of printers including submitting requests for IP reservations and print queue names
  • Investigate & resolve non-reporting device/printer (NRD’s) issues
  • Investigate & resolve failure in consumable deliveries

Service Now ITAM

  • Incidents & Requests Queue Management
  • Maintain inventory in Service Now of deployed hardware
  • Process PC, Printer and accessory requests in Service Now
  • Participate in the evaluation and implementation of ITIL best-practice operational processes
  • Knowledge Base (KB) and Service Request (SR) creation and updates
  • Responsible to update and keep track of IT assets in Service Now

Mandatory (Must-Have) Skills:

  • Minimum 3 years office experience
  • Knowledge of Service Now
  • ITIL Certification
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office applications with an emphasis in Excel, Outlook and Word
  • Strong knowledge on Service Now Incidents, Requests and Asset Management

Knowledge:

  • Familiarity with IT asset management tools (e.g. ServiceNow, Lansweeper) and mobile device management (MDM) platforms (e.g., Intune, Apple Business Manager).
  • Knowledge of procurement, inventory control, and lifecycle management best practices.
  • Working knowledge of device encryption technology, anti-virus, anti-spam, anti-malware software technologies

Soft Skills:

  • Strong time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities while maintaining a strong attention to detail
  • Skilled in resolving issues efficiently, maintaining professionalism under pressure, and ensuring customer satisfaction through clear communication and empathy.
  • Able to communicate clearly and professionally with stakeholders at all organizational levels and trusted to convey sensitive information with discretion, clarity, and professionalism.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex data, identify patterns, and develop effective solutions.
