Overview:
We are looking for a UI Architect who will take ownership of building and maintaining a robust Design System and React Component Library, ensuring the perfect balance between exceptional User Experience (UX) and Developer Experience (DX). This role is critical in defining front-end architecture standards, driving consistency across applications, and enabling scalable, high-quality solutions for our financial services platforms.

What you will be responsible for

  • Own the design and development of a robust Design System and React Component Library, ensuring an optimal balance between exceptional User Experience (UX) and Developer Experience (DX).
  • Define and maintain front-end architecture standards and guidelines.
  • Collaborate with UX designers, product managers, and back-end engineers to deliver seamless, performant interfaces.
  • Manage and coordinate work across a small team of 4–6 front-end developers to ensure timely delivery of high-quality solutions.
  • Apply expertise in Responsive Web Design (RWD), Web Accessibility (WCAG), and Screen Reader compatibility to create inclusive user experiences.
  • Evaluate and recommend modern UI frameworks, libraries, and tools to enhance development efficiency.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to front-end developers without direct people management responsibilities.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of development processes.
  • Stay passionate about exploring new technology trends in user experience, user interaction, and Single Page Applications (SPAs) to drive innovation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 8+ years of experience in front-end development with strong expertise in Semantic HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, React.
  • Solid understanding of responsive design, performance optimization, and cross-browser compatibility.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, testing frameworks, and modern development practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative, agile environment.

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with open-source design systems such as Material UI, React Spectrum, or similar.
  • Knowledge of design systems and component-driven development.

Bonus Points:

  • Contribution to open-source projects related to UI frameworks, design systems, or front-end tooling.

Salary Range:

$140,000 - $222,500 Annual

The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
