Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance Solution Architect responsible for designing, governing, and delivering enterprise finance solutions that support Proofpoint’s global Finance, Revenue, and Order Operations teams.

This role partners closely with business stakeholders, engineering teams, and program leadership to define scalable solution architectures, modernize finance platforms, and drive ERP transformation initiatives. The architect will ensure business processes align with Dynamics 365 capabilities while maintaining a secure, scalable, and high-performance enterprise platform.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Enterprise Solution Architecture

    • Define the end-to-end architecture for Dynamics 365 Finance solutions including application, data, integration, and security architecture.

    • Translate complex business requirements into scalable solution designs aligned with enterprise architecture standards.

    • Lead architecture reviews and establish best practices for extensibility, customization, and solution design.

    • Develop and maintain the Dynamics 365 platform roadmap aligned with enterprise digital transformation initiatives.

  • Business Process & Finance Architecture

    • Partner with Finance and Revenue leaders to align enterprise processes with Dynamics 365 capabilities.

    • Architect solutions supporting global finance processes including: Order-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay, Record-to-Report, Financial Close, Intercompany accounting

    • Drive process standardization and automation across finance operations.

  • Platform Development & Extensibility

    • Provide technical leadership for solution design and development using X++, C#, and .NET.

    • Define extensibility strategies aligned with Microsoft best practices to minimize over-customization.

    • Review and govern code quality, performance optimization, and maintainability.

  • Integration Architecture

    • Architect enterprise integrations between Dynamics 365 and boundary systems using API-based and event-driven integration patterns.

    • Design integration solutions leveraging: Microsoft Power Platform, Microsoft Azure integration services and Microsoft Dataverse

    • Ensure reliable data synchronization across finance, revenue, and operational systems.

  • Platform Governance & DevOps

    • Establish governance frameworks for solution delivery, release management, and environment lifecycle management.

    • Oversee deployment pipelines and environment management using: Azure DevOps and Dynamics Lifecycle Services (LCS)

    • Ensure adherence to enterprise standards for security, compliance, scalability, and performance.

  • ERP Transformation & Delivery Leadership

    • Lead ERP modernization initiatives and platform upgrades.

    • Evaluate ISV solutions and extensions to extend platform capabilities.

    • Provide architectural guidance during implementations, upgrades, and global rollouts.

    • Act as the technical authority and escalation point for complex solution decisions.

  • Stakeholder Engagement

    • Collaborate with Finance, Revenue Operations, and IT leadership to align technology solutions with business objectives.

    • Facilitate architecture workshops and design reviews with business and technical teams.

    • Communicate architectural decisions and tradeoffs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Required Skills, Experience & Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering or any equivalent field.

  • 15+ years of experience in enterprise application architecture or ERP solution delivery.

  • 7+ years of experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations or Dynamics AX.

  • Minimum 2–3 years in a Solution Architect or Lead Architect role.

  • Strong experience with: X++, SSRS,DMF,Forms development, C#, .NET, JavaScript and SQL.

  • Experience building integrations using REST APIs and OData services.

  • Expertise in Power Platform solutions including Power Apps and Power Automate.

  • Strong understanding of enterprise integration patterns and API-based architectures.

  • Experience designing scalable and secure integrations using Azure services.

  • Deep expertise in global finance processes, including: Order-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay, Record-to-Report, Financial Close and Intercompany Accounting

  • Strong knowledge of D365 Finance modules including: General Ledger, Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable, Cash & Treasury Management, Tax, Fixed Assets and Supply Chain Management

  • Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations Apps Solution Architect Expert (MB-700) preferred.

  • Experience supporting integration testing, end-to-end testing, and UAT.

  • Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies.

  • Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.

The range provided may represent a candidate range and may not reflect the full range for an individual tenured employee. This role may be eligible for variable compensation and/or equity. Base Pay Range: 166,500.00 - 244,200.00 USD

California (excludes SF Bay Area), Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Washington DC Metro, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Texas, Washington, Virginia, and Alaska:

Base Pay Range: 136,200.00 - 199,760.00 USD

All other cities and states excluding those listed above:

Base Pay Range: 124,100.00 - 182,050.00 USD
