Overview

Regulatory and Cross Product Technology in Corporate and Investment Banking Technology is a fast paced demanding environment to work in. Our workload is high with strong demand for delivery.  To ensure that we remain an engineering focused organization, we are looking for a passionate technologist who can ensure we strive for the highest quality architecture and design across our teams. 

You will join the Corporate and Investment Bank IT team and will be reporting directly to the Head of Architecture for Regulatory and Cross Products Technology.

Role Description

You will collaborate across architecture domains to ensure that well designed solutions are built and released to our customers.  You will share a passion for excellent architecture and engineering led by robust well thought through designs and architecture.  You will govern the architecture process, improving it where we are not enabling teams to build solutions that are fit for purpose and genuinely impactful to the businesses they support.  Through reviews and guidance you will help teams understand how to avoid problems and ensure solutions are principled and delivering the capabilities required in the right way.

To be successful in this role you will …

• set the direction of the architecture for the domain across your own team and the wider delivery teams.  You will be the North Star for our teams to follow, as you collaborate with them through delivery.
• enjoy having a multi-faceted role.  Your focus will span the many architecture and technology concerns: technical, functional, data and enterprise architecture. 
• grow our people on better ways of working, embedding architecture and design into our culture.  Working across other architecture functions refining how we do architecture in the firm aligned to optimised ways of working.
• ensure the overall design of the domain is fit for purpose, and where not fix it.  Regularly reviewing the implementations of the designs to ensure they do actually do what they should, in the right way with the right stability.
• join business and technology together so they fit seamlessly.  Your business will think of you as their architect owning and designing solutions to real world business problems.
• form a consistent design as you form consensus with other architecture domains to build the wider Corporate and Investment Banking architecture.
• be a part of a wider architecture and engineering community striving to build excellent solutions to important business problems.
