The role also contributes to making backend applications AI-ready by enabling integration with AI/ML models, Azure AI services, APIs, telemetry pipelines, and cloud-native architectures to support automation, predictive insights, decision-making, and intelligent user experiences.
The ideal candidate brings 5-8 years of backend engineering experience with .NET technologies, strong API design and database skills, and the ability to deliver high-quality, performant, secure, and maintainable services for Industrial IoT and asset management solutions.
Roles and Responsibilities:
· Design, develop, test, and maintain backend services, APIs, and application components using .NET Core, C#, ASP.NET Core, Web API, Entity Framework, and SQL Server.
· Build secure, reliable, and scalable backend capabilities for Industrial IoT, condition monitoring, connected assets, telemetry processing, and asset management applications.
· Develop REST APIs, background services, data access layers, integration services, and business logic components aligned with product and platform requirements.
· Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Architects, frontend engineers, QA, DevOps, and support teams to deliver backend features and integrations.
· Implement integration with internal and external systems, telemetry APIs, cloud services, AI/ML services, and enterprise platforms.
· Contribute to AI-ready backend architecture by enabling clean APIs, structured data access, telemetry data consumption, and integration points for AI/ML models and Azure AI services.
· Write clean, reusable, maintainable, and testable code following engineering standards and secure coding practices.
· Participate in technical design discussions, code reviews, estimation, debugging, troubleshooting, and production issue resolution.
· Optimize application performance, SQL queries, API response times, error handling, logging, and monitoring capabilities.
· Support CI/CD pipelines, Docker-based deployments, cloud environment configuration, and release readiness activities.
· Create and maintain technical documentation, API documentation, implementation notes, and support handover documents.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related technical field.
· 5 to 8 years of professional backend software development experience using Microsoft .NET technologies.
· Strong hands-on experience with C#, .NET Core, ASP.NET Core, Web API, Entity Framework, and backend application development.
· Strong experience with SQL Server, database design, stored procedures, indexing, query optimization, and performance tuning.
· Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs, service integrations, and enterprise application components.
· Good understanding of cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure, and cloud-hosted application development.
· Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and modern software delivery practices.
· Working knowledge of application security, authentication, authorization, logging, exception handling, and monitoring.
· Ability to analyze requirements, break down technical tasks, and deliver high-quality software increments.
· Strong problem-solving, communication, ownership, and collaboration skills.
Skills:
· Strong proficiency in .NET Core, C#, ASP.NET Core, Web API, Entity Framework, SQL Server, and backend service development.
· Good understanding of Industrial IoT, telemetry data, connected assets, condition monitoring, equipment health, and asset management workflows.
· Ability to build reliable APIs, scalable services, optimized database queries, and maintainable backend components.
· Knowledge of integration patterns, microservices concepts, cloud services, DevOps practices, and production support readiness.
· Ability to work with architects and technical leads to implement designs aligned with platform and product objectives.
· Strong focus on code quality, testing, performance, security, documentation, and maintainability.
Preferred / Good to Have:
· Exposure to AI/ML model integration, Azure AI services, Azure OpenAI, Cognitive Services, or similar AI platforms.
· Experience in Manufacturing, Industrial IoT, condition monitoring, asset management, reliability engineering, or connected equipment domains.
· Experience with event-driven architecture, message queues, streaming data, telemetry platforms, or real-time monitoring applications.
· Exposure to frontend technologies such as Angular, React, JavaScript, or TypeScript is a plus.
