The IT Application Support Senior Specialist is responsible for supporting the day-to-day IT Operations of FWD business applications that will cater to different functional areas.

The role will be responsible for supporting production application incidents and service request to ensure that the applications are available and running at optimal performance. The scope of this role includes (but not limited to) troubleshooting, incident/data analysis, capacity planning, and development & implementation of production fixes.
  • Support of “Business as Usual” (BAU) Requests.

  • Recommends solutions or workarounds to customers’ business issues.

  • Perform full stack systems development to support production fixes using the appropriate technologies.

  • Assists in testing and production environment setup.

  • Perform unit and integration testing.

  • Systems troubleshooting

    • Determine and execute appropriate actions to restore service.

    • Verify the resolution is successful.

·       Ensure that product delivery incidents are tracked and updated.

·       Maintain a BAU service requests and incident log for analysis.

·       May collaborate with different IT functional area for assessment of product improvements.

  • Provide updates on user procedure manual as needed

  • Ensure that organization policies, procedures and standards (such as SDLC, Security, Audit guidelines) are met in the delivery of the solutions.

  • Gathering and analyzing data to diagnose problems with systems

·       Regularly submits management reports (Capacity planning, issue analysis and recommendations)

·       Updating employees on the status of their service requests, incident requests

 

·       Logging all service requests and updating tickets as needed

·       Maintaining system functionality by testing application components

·       Achieving computer stem objectives through collecting relevant data, identifying and evaluating options and suggesting a course of action

·       Maintain client confidence by keeping their information confidential.

Knowledge and Skills:  

Education & Certification: 

  • Graduate of any 4-year Course preferably B.S Computer Science, B.S. in Information Technology or related field with computer applications

  • Any relevant certification is an advantage: (such as but not limited to)

    • PSM

    • ITIL

    • Cloud Certifications (AWS/Azure Developer, AWS/Azure practitioner…etc.)

Experience:

 

  • Preferably with at least 3 years solid experience in WEB, Mobile or Core systems development.

  • With good working experience in the following: (these are the primary skills needed)

    • React JS

    • React Native

    • SpringBoot / Spring Cloud

    • Databases: MongoDB / MySQL / MSSQL

    • Node JS

    • Java

    • CSS / HTML5

    • With experience in systems integration using REST and SOAP

    • With knowledge in using JIRA is an advantage

  • Experience in setting up and using DevOps tools is an advantage

  • Experience in cloud technologies (such as AWS) is an advantage

  • Proficiency in MS Office Applications.

  • Experience in automation tools is an advantage:

    • Collaborations and tracking: Jira / Slack / Teams

    • Testing: Selenium; Appium; Junit… etc.

  • With experience in cloud solutions is an advantage

  • Hands-on experience in Life insurance system development and implementation is an advantage

Technical Competencies/Skills:

  • Knowledgeable in Insurance business applications and processes is a must

  • Good analytical and problem solving skills. Should be able to identify critical/priority incidents or tasks. Should be able to perform impact analysis before implementing any system changes.

·       Requirements gathering/definition documentation.

o   With knowledge in process or solutions diagraming tools (such as Sequence, DFD, Workflow…etc.)

·       Be able to perform Unit and Integration testing. Knowledge in automated testing tools is an advantage.

·       Understanding of SDLC frameworks
