Role Description

• This role will be a member of the engineering team at DWS. This role will be is part of our front office team which works directly with the business and supports the Passive Investments Portfolio business.
• We are seeking an IT Application Owner (ITAO) to provide governance and oversight for critical business applications. The ITAO is responsible for ensuring that all application governance controls are satisfied, risks are managed, and compliance requirements are met throughout the application lifecycle.

Your key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for application governance, risk, and compliance matters.
• Ensure that all required governance controls (e.g., access management, change management, data protection, business continuity, disaster recovery) are implemented and maintained.
• Oversee the application’s compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and audit standards.
• Coordinate with IT, security, risk, and business teams to address control gaps and remediation actions.
• Maintain up-to-date documentation of application architecture, controls, and compliance status.
• Participate in risk assessments, audits, and regulatory reviews related to the application.
• Monitor and report on application health, incidents, and control effectiveness.
• Support incident and problem management processes, ensuring timely resolution and root cause analysis.
• Drive continuous improvement of governance processes and control frameworks.

Your skills and experience

• Strong understanding of IT governance, risk management, and compliance frameworks.
• Experience with application lifecycle management and IT controls.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements relevant to financial or regulated industries.
• Excellent organizational, documentation, and communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate with technical and business stakeholders.
