IT Administration Technician - On site Mobile AL.

This position is responsible for the repair of peripheral devices, as well as emergency client support. Hardware Technician, is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and optimizing the hardware systems used by our clients and or employees. Hardware Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of technology infrastructure and contribute to the overall success of the company. This position requires a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work well under pressure.

Essential Functions:

  • Proficient at navigating BB, opening, updating and closing situations; send/receive mail; and acquiring pertinent information from the Wiki
  • Develops proficient, cost-effective diagnostic and repair skills on all previously listed equipment
  • Takes initiative to explore equipment and self-train with little help from others
  • Become familiar with operation, testing, diagnostic and repair of (but not limited to): - ** New timeclocks and Pioneer timeclock upgrades ** Access points/wireless network ** Zebra card and label printers ** Oki 4410 impact printers ** Rack mount system UPS battery catridges** Laptops ** Tablets ** Laser Printers
  • Remain current regarding IT technologies and applications
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area
  • Participate in an on-going learning development of hardware products through certifications and self-taught education
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on a variety of hardware systems, including desktop computers, laptops, servers, printers, and other peripherals
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues reported by clients in a timely and efficient manner
  • Install and configure new hardware systems and peripherals according to clients' specifications
  • Conduct hardware upgrades and replacements as needed to improve system performance and functionality
  • Collaborate with other team members and vendors to diagnose and resolve complex hardware problems
  • Keep accurate records of hardware inventory, maintenance tasks, and repairs performed
  • Stay current on industry trends and advancements in hardware technology to make recommendations for upgrades and improvements to our clients' systems
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain a professional demeanor when interacting with clients and/or employees
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, as well as industry standards and best practices

 

Minimum Requirements:

Education/Experience/Certification Requirements

  • 2-year or + degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • 1-2+ years of experience
  • Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and time-management skills.
  • Must be detail oriented and able to follow through on issues to resolution.
  • Must be able to act both independently and as a team member.
  • Moderate travel 25% - 40%
