L.L.Bean is looking for an IS Manager II-Server Engineering to join our IS Team.
We welcome the opportunity for this role to be hybrid based at the corporate headquarters in Freeport, Maine.
Position Purpose: Applies strong systems knowledge & experience to manage IS team's responsibilities for development and support of IT portfolio for multiple business areas. Assumes responsibility for project completion, user satisfaction, and account management with business partners. Contributes to the development of strategic plans with assigned business areas.
Projects may have a significant financial and/or systematic impact.
Responsibilities:
Contributes to the development of cost center budgets. Manages to budget & re-projects as needed.
Prepares, delivers and leads technical presentations that bring about effective decision-making.
Solid understanding of the L.L.Bean business processes (financial, forecasting & budget; marketing; merchandising; operations) that are necessary to support issues of enterprise integration.
Manages the delivery of a set of applications, infrastructure components or services and is responsible for the full life-cycle management and performance of build and production:
Directs technical analysis, evaluates estimates for reasonability and effectively manages and directs complex projects of software and hardware systems based on the IT Reference Architecture.
Plans and sets goals at macro and micro levels:
Provides input to policy-level direction regarding standards, budget constraints, etc.
Schedules and monitors multiple technical projects and/or requests
Ensures decisions are aligned with and support organization's business priorities.
Measures project costs & results
Leads and provides overall direction to a technical and analytical team:
Makes decisions on hiring, termination, assignment, promotion, appraisals, etc.
Assesses resources and assigns team members to projects to achieve business objectives
Sets goals and objectives; measures and reports progress against them
Advances development, delivery and support best practices; creates a work environment for teams to grow and thrive.
Effectively leads through change - strategy, implementation and assessment
May lead one or more supervisors or leaders
Negotiates requirements for hardware and software; maintains vendor relationships:
Stays updated on vendor releases
Schedules regular check ins, tracks mergers and acquisitions
Involved in Product Roadmap discussion with the vendor.
Develops personal relationships with key parties from the vendor.
Manages vendor relationships for a set of vendors as defined by the Strategic Vendor Management model.
Establishes, negotiates and tracks adherence to Service Level Agreements for vendor and in-house systems.
Education Level: 4-year Bachelor's Degree
Years of Experience: 5+ years
Skills & Qualifications:
5-7 years IT experience; 2 or more years managerial or supervisory experience leading a technical/analytical team or department
BA/BS or equivalent required; IT focus preferable
Broad IT leadership experience of technology principles and various computing systems, applications, and environments.
Broad understanding of enterprise architecture
Experience managing supervisors
Has experience managing & re-projecting budgets and has proven results in cost containment efforts.
Ability to build collaborative relationships in order to support win-win outcomes
Demonstrates high discretion and accountability.
Sought out as trusted expert
Adept at conflict management
Advance project management skills; proven success in significant cross-functional projects
Strong technical & verbal writing skills applicable to technical teams and Senior Leadership
